Blaise 1 Posted June 19, 2012 It's an alpha, OP is giving feedback about new features and directions. That's what you do as a user when a game is in alpha. You play the game and you give feedback.Offtopic: I hate all these little kids on this forum, screaming in agony and polluting threads with short replies as "GAME IS IN ALPHA". Yes we know. This is a forum, it's meant for discussing topics. Now please take a look at the arguments that were mentioned by OP. Because no one cares about your all-caps one liners, we're trying to figure out how to improve this game.

rocket 16567 Posted June 19, 2012 The only problem I have with the OP's statement, is that every major release, from 1.1 to 1.7 - doom and gloom was applied and people were up in arms saying I was destroying the game and that they would stick with the previous patch. Then a week later, all this would be forgotten and the cycle of:1. praise and excitement about incoming patch2. depression, despair, threats after patch is released3. acceptance and forgetting of previous behavior4. go back to step 1.1.7.1.4 seems to be running pretty well, by all accounts. Now that it is finally running, we can begin to assess whether the changes made are ones that we want to keep.If the mod had stayed where it was four weeks ago, I can guarantee that nobody would be playing it now.

dph314 2 Posted June 19, 2012 Rocket Defence Force in full swing.indeed' date=' devoid of opinion (there own that is) ready to automatically shove their noses up his arse, nice job guys.[/quote']Are people retarded? Do people still not know this was released with the SOLE purpose of being a test? This isn't a full-fledged game (yet), and it isn't here ONLY so that you can have fun. It's here to test and that's it. Fun is a side-effect.He's doing us a favor by releasing it for mass-testing like this. Not only will he be able to get the final version done a lot quicker by having so many people test it, but we also get to see the game early-on and have some fun with it while giving our input. If you were't such a dick you would realize that it's not simply blindly defending someone. It's the fact that MOST of us understand why the alpha version was released and what we signed up for when downloading it. So maybe it's not blind ass-kissing, maybe it's just the fact that we have some common sense and know what it means to test an alpha version. Go be assholes on some other forum, there's a lot of them out there. This one is for testing a product that will be a complete game SOMEDAY.Why the hell are these repeat moan threads let go beyond the first page' date=' just lock the bloody things. Is no one else sick of repeating that it's an alpha!? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills!![/quote']I agree. All these idiotic threads need to be locked/deleted right away. There should be ZERO complaints about testing new features and saying that your done playing it and all that crap. Just say specific features you don't like and in the correct threads so that Rocket can actually see them without a wall of text and full of biased opinions. Every single value and feature in the game now isn't going to be in the final version. Testing them is the whole point of this game now, and making pointless threads about the game not being fun anymore isn't helping and is also COMPLETELY missing the whole point of this game being released potentially YEARS before it's officially done. People need to realize, like I said before, FUN IS A SIDE-EFFECT. This is testing. All testing. I'm having a ton of fun while doing it, but I don't make a new thread every other day about how I'm going to uninstall it just because there's a new feature being tested that I don't like. deepfried 95 Posted June 19, 2012 about a month ago I found myself running through the countryside' date=' hours on end, doing literally nothing but travelling , surviving , looting and having one of the most unique and engrossing experiences I've had in a game, in ANY game. I've been a gamer for most of my life, and as I've gotten older I really started to lose interest in my hobby, my lifelong hobby. Then I was gifted arrowhead by a friend who pointed me in the direction of a cool little mod, a sandbox zombie experience? count me the fu*k in!and I played it from early beta( SORRY: Alpha, when you can't pick a valid argument, then pick up on a typo) enjoyed it, looked past the small bugs and was truly blown away by this concept, I was playing a game where alot of the time I did nothing but run or walk and yet I couldn't stop.I've sat in a deerstand at sunset with the rain pouring down and lightning flashed, a few zombies shambled around a barn in the distance, I scanned the horizon for life, and literally FELT like a survivor, gathered supplies and arms, ran through streets and got out of some serious scrapes, sure I've died alot but Its been a hell of a ride.but.... as of latethis mod has gone to sh*t like major sh*t its like a little kid painting a picture at elementary school, it gets to a point where its fine, it looks fine and works as a picture, then the kid keeps painting and painting because he thinks its fun, and ends up ruining it. Rocket is that kid, he adds 5 new things that break another 10 things, rinse repeat this with almost every patch/hotfix, this was actually enjoyable around the 1.6 ish mark, it was challenging enough to punish new users, and also steady enough to keep veterans on their toes. zombie evading techniques were developed by players to survive and it was actually really really really engrossing. now with every new patch its jumping the shark more and more, starting players with nothing but a bandage and painkillers? not fun. super agressive X-ray zombies? not fun. I fell over for no reason and broke my legs with a week old character with some truly great gear (gear I worked hard at getting) certainly not fun. I may come back to this in a year or so, when It's in some playable and "fun" state, as of now its just got really fu*king old, really fu*king fast.my 2 pence.Rob[/quote']Dude thats the definition of alpha, if you don't like it wait for beta. But he just needs to wrap it up in one sentence and post it in the correct '1.7.1.4 Update' thread, which would actually make his observations USEFUL.
