sounds like a personal problem ...

Maybe your personal problem is a lack of respect and understanding for other peoples lives..?

Some people, like myself, are extremly fortunate to be able to build their own PC's or buy a nice pre-built one. But we're not going to act the we are better than those can't do such things..

Ever heard of the economy? Yeah, it affects some of us...

I think you should make the ish part bold, I wanted entertainment but instead I received confusion.

Either way, you just have to tweak it a bit, DayZ is a bit finicky for some reason, not every preset settings list works for everyone - just have to trial and error a lot of it to get the best graphics/performance balance.

I run on 10-20 frames normally and I followed the settings here and it didn't help

In fact changing the shadow detail and some of the other settings lost me around 5 ffps

Great video. I'll have to play around with my settings now. I put everything to default then tweaked it from there. Performance seemed to improve. How do you find out your FPS? I want to know which changes make it better or wrose. So I can have the best blend of speed and looks.

Download FRAPS demo, turn on the overlay function. you should be able to see your FPS in the top left corner of your screen!

fraps actually drops your frames i used Dxtory and that only drops me like 1 or 2 frames. if you have it, it does tel you your frames. if you dont some servers have modified debug monitors. they tell you your FPS bit drop it a bit too so add 2 or 3. sometimes its the server, super modified ones do really hurt preformace

Fraps does not affect your FPS, unless your recording.

The "OSD" is fine in telling your overall FPS.

More advanced tools to measure various hardware statistics would be

* MSI Afterburner

* EVGA Precision X
