Dayz is updated but it sais it isnt

Hey i have the dayz steam mod and everytime i try to join a server it has a red X next to it and sais that i do not have the most up to date version.

i use dayz commander and it sais i am up to date was just wondering if this is a known problem and has a easy fix to it. i have uninstalled both dayz mod and

dayz commander and still have this problem

Did you purchase ArmA and Operation Arrowhead through steam or are they retail copies?

Well personally I would recommend using DayZCommander for installation/server browsing rather then installing DayZ via Steam. Follow the steps below and see if there are still issues.

1. Run both ArmA 2 and ArmA 2: Operation Arrowhead once to complete installation.

2. Download DayZCommander from http://www.dayzcommander.com

3. Run DayZCommander and click the "install/update" button from the top menu.

4. Click "Install" next to ArmA. Wait for the download and install to complete.

5. Click "Install" next to DayZ. Wait for the download and install to complete.

6. Press "Done" to close the versions panel.

7. Filter "DayZ only" from the dropdown box on the left and join a server, if you want to play other mods you will need to install them via the install/update menu.

Hey thanks for the response i have tried searching for dayz servers using dayz commander but it does not come up with any servers. sorry to be a pain.

it also sais that dayz is up to date and so is arma in the install/update tab.

Any errors on the settings tab? If not check your firewall/AV isn't blocking the connection.

Just for a future reference, if DayZ is up to date, that means ONLY Chernarus (the original DayZ Map) is up to date. If you join any server other than DayZ Chernarus it will say you are out of date. I've seen more than one person not realizing that there is a difference. If you want to play one of the other 20 some-odd maps or Mods of DayZ Mod, they you need to download them additionally in the install panel.
