Jackie Chan 3 Posted May 5, 2013 Sup guys, been awhile since I came back to the god forsaken KOS shithole which is DayZ. I mean like really, It's been a really really long time. Almost a year to be exact, and I check in on occasion and I've been playing a ton of Origins, It's really kept me from giving up on the old girl. When I left the forums and DayZ behind, there was hackers, I mean a lot of hackers, and just to indulge my curiosity I went back to DayZ pub. It's dead, I mean this in the nicest way possible (which is not a lot) I can't find a server with over 20+ pop, and when I do. *BANG* broken legs, Insta-kill. I came to type this topic out with the plan on not flaming, not to be like "oh rocketz u suk fagit" I am a little surprised though, I mean is there really this many hackers still playing?Since it's very unlikely that any of you play pub still, I'd like to ask a question, or a series of questions.Don't answer if you don't like, I am just curious.*How long have you been playing?*Public or Private? applejaxc 2500 Posted May 5, 2013 (edited) Public died when everyone became a raging pussy and couldn't play the game without 20+ helicopters and free weapon load outs, or tit-for-tat "I sub u utube 4 As50!" bullshit.I play lone-wolf so I feel less bad about shooting players. I occasionally befriend random players if it is convenient (IE, I need a blood transfusion) and let them live if I like them and want them to frequent my server. (If it's some qwikscoping fagattack pr0 I have no interest in keeping them happy)I'm HELLA excited for the SA, EXCEPT for running in-door infected and underground structures. dallas 5195 Posted May 5, 2013 Since last May, private servers mostly and my group stopped, so one man wolfpack.Yes, I'm looking forward to rediscovering Chernarus+, but I try keeping my expectations in check. Mostly I'm curious to see if the standalone can take off like the mod did, go viral again or if the moment has passed. I think that no matter what happens to the standalone, Rocket has proven, there's a market for authentic and challenging gameplay, where players themselves fill their worlds with their own lore and stories. What I'm looking most forward to is a realistic, more western/modernized map, I'm a bit worried about Chernarus+, as we all know it's basic geography in and out by now. A funny video on what happened last tuesday when Jim Bob jumped out of his helicopter in Battlefield and sniped someone 3k's away is great.
