Bigal123 14 Posted May 5, 2013 Okay, I couldn't find a suggestion in the search bar for this, because I was unsure what I would search for, so if this has been said, please tell me.So, right now I have a clan of around 10 members. We have a base up north of the map we play on. Our base consists of many tents and cars. Now what I wanted to say, it what if in StandAlone or something, that there could be buildings scattered around the map, that dont have zeds that spawn there. So you would be able to build a base, and actually camp there. It would make my gaming experience on DayZ so much more fun, to actually fortify a building, for example a random house out in the middle of no where. Where we could eventually build upon that house.The idea is that zeds simply wont spawn at some buildings. It is really irritating to try to setup base anywhere near a building because zeds spawn every so often after you kill them. Or a better way of implementing this would be, once you kill off the zeds that are already there they wont spawn back into that area. That would make a very realistic adventure. The base would now be "ours" once we shot down the zeds that lived there before this apocalypse.This would be a great idea for the game, and I don't know if they have already thought about this, but it sure would be fun, knowing you actually have your own base, and not just some tents. Imagine the fun, knowing that a different clan is set up base there and there could be a shoot out for hours. It would be really amazing. Shooting from the windows, trying to defend your base that holds much supplies of weapons, gas, cars and much more. This would implent alot of player vs. player interaction. It would also bring in alot of RolePlay, to this game which is a very amazing thing in DayZ. Also, maybe its not just a clan base HQ, but a medical home out in the middle of the map that is on high security and people can come and get medical treatment and such.Or if not that it could be a trading base where people can come and trade and feel much more secure, then being at some tents or something. Anyways this is just an idea, that I think personally would bring alot of player interaction and creativity. Tents are great on the move, but a real building as a base would be really cool. Private Evans 1303 Posted May 9, 2013 It has been suggested before to use predefined areas as camps for larger groups or clans. The idea is to use structures like farms, small military camps etc surrounded by walls or fences already with only a few entances that can be blocked or barricaded easily. For example by using one of these large busses. Zeds once killed would not spawn again as long as player activity is noticed by the game in a specified timeframe. Let's say no player is noticed by the game within 24 hours in this area (/camp) zeds would slowly start spawning again. I still believe this would be the best soution for building bases, since it does not require stupid structure building mechanics and would defenetely not clutter the servers. It would also exactly be what people would do in RL ( like in The Walking Dead), Other groups could attack and try to overtake these camps. Also all kind of other roll playing scenarios would be possible, like establishing trading posts or hospitals (without shitty npc's) depending on the player community on different servers. Adding barbed wire, tank traps, mines and booby traps and other nice stuff would also be cool. Getting in for enemies should require at least some proper gear like satchel charges etc. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
