Low fps but good Hardware?

Recommended Posts

do you have team viewer?

Im interested in why all the settings u have and the pc you have you shouldn't be getting such low fps.

Pmed u

You'll find lots of tips and tricks at the ArmA forum / BI.

- Make sure that CPU goes in turbo mode.

- Run some benchmarks like Futuremark to compare basic performance.

- Arma: Start with highest settings, then turn down one by one, needs a lot of testing. Arma's a bitch regarding hardware.

- AA, AF should be low, Postprocess off.

- Don't expect a constant high framerate, Arma brings every system to it's knees.

- As fps isn't constant above 60fps, use VSync for a much better quality, the fps drop isn't too hard then. You'll see the difference.

I run an i5 @4400 turbo / gtx570 default, 8 gig, Ama2 at separate SSD with Vsync on, always between 40 - 60 fps.

All done - does not work... "As fps isnt constant above 60[...]" i wish i'll get 35 or more....

Post your ArmA/OA benchmark results please. Looks like a challenge but together we'll get it running.

Have a look here, may help.

http://www.dayzpvp.com/ultimate-dayz-graphics-settings-and-tweaks-guide/

You should at least be getting 50-60+ FPS with all settings maxed out.

Are your other games getting bad Frame rates? If so, Replace your Power Supply.

OR at least try and update drivers etc. But I think it's more of a hardware pro

50-60FPS with all settings on Very high. How i loll'd

edit: i believe that either your CPU but most likely your GPU is not switching into turbo/3d mode, so it doesn't clocks up tu full speed.

you can use MSI afterburner's OnScreenDisplay to show the numbers.

post your ArmA2OA.cfg in documents / arma2 - looks like this:

language="English";

adapter=-1;

3D_Performance=100000;

Resolution_Bpp=32;

Windowed=0;

Resolution_W=1920;

Resolution_H=1200;

nonlocalVRAM=2147483647;

vsync=1;

AToC=0;

FXAA=0;

Edit:

- Install a hardware monitor like this http://openhardwaremonitor.org/

- run benchmarks and check min/max values

First, make sure your drivers are all up to date. It may have an impact on your FPS without you noticing.

Once you have made 100% sure that all of your drivers are up to date, I recommend checking out that thread that Beck posted earlier. Also, do some research and add startup parameters to ArmA II based on your hardware.

Also in response to Gambla, to increase FPS easily and significantly change your settings like so. The modified files are highlighted in red. :)

I don't know if anyone has suggested it, but have you set any launch parameters?

Here is what I have set for DayZ Commander and for Steam:

-cpuCount=3 -nosplash -nopause -maxMem=2047 -maxVRAM=1024 -exThreads=7

Be sure and change the values depending on your system configuration. After I set this, I got about 15-20 fps increase.
