What Event Turned You Into A Bandit?

Recommended Posts

I used to play as a very strict hero. Doing my best not to shot at people, not unless they had a bandit skin, and only if they shot first at me. Back in the day, the private hive I was playing on (active admins keep hackers away) decided they would try out the namalusk map. That first night we were in the bitch black, freezing our asses off, doing our best to fiind clothing and food. Weapons? That stuff was every where. Since many of the players were using snipers, I was using a 240 for suppression fire and squad support. As a Hero I would fill what ever roll was needed and not already taken.

So after a night o gatheriing stuff and getting 3 urals a hilux and a UAZ all running, we were all getting tired, so we drove to the closest facility to the west side of the land bridge. As we didn't know the map yet, the other players thought it would be safe. I didn't I was like who is going to the watch vehicles. I was told they were safe and before I knew it, I was the only one still online. Well... I put a whole bunch of work into what I had and the cars as well. I wasn't going to loose them. So i clicmed the latter and then watched for people who were headed to the facillity. I had 400 rounds and basicly a one shot kill weapon. When the first guy logged on eight hours later, I had racked up 17 kills. I was living off coffee and bitched the guy out before I logged off.

It was that Namalsk map that made me go Bandit. I don't care what you say, that map is meant for PvP and thats it. Shoot on site. Becuase I had always played as a hero with this group. They had never seen me realy use a sniper rifle. When I came online after sleeping off the Coffee shakes. I picked up a M107 and picking people off normaly with the first shot, even after having to lead them. I quickly was designated as the groups over watch when ever they were in the "hole" or A2.

I don't play bandit any more, as other things happend. I started playing DayZ in June of 2012. But one thing I did learn as being a bandit... How to be a better player killer.

I started being a bandit when I was sick and tired of trying to help people only to be killed. I think the thing that made me snap was when I added a guy on skype from the forums, talked to him for a week, thought he was a great guy and a good teammate... Didn't stop him from killing me for the first AS50 I ever found...

I think it was achieving Platinum after killing several dozen rioting zombie monkeys and taking their gold coins in a prison facility on Mars. That shit stuck with me.

In other words I came into the game with the intent of performing banditry.

I don't think I count as a bandit right now, no bandit skin. ^_^

When I risk many of my teammates to help another person, with him only killing my whole squad. I got revenge and then decided to kill all.

My first kill on DayZ has to be one the most memorable events for me. When i started i used to run randomly inland until i came across a town. To this day have no idea where i was or what town i was in (and i have revisited them all!). Anyway i found a Winchester (back when they were good). This was my first weapon, and i got that 'woo-hoo' feeling. About 10 minuets later, after some more random venturing i came across a player who had not seen me. Having never had a weapon before i was eager to fire it and poof, headshot. Went over to his corpse, found an AK Kobra... 3 mags....gold mine. From this day on i have been a KOS bandit. Trusting friends only.

I have been a bandit for a while, i enjoy internet "trolling" in games, I am not 12. I Just find it fun winding people in online games e.g shooting someone on gta 4 online so they respawn on the other side of the map. I saw a video of some bandits taking a player hostage and the kid raging going absolutely mental in the sidechatter. I thought it was insanely funny, so i logged into my regular dayz server, I was known to be a friendly good friends with admins, big base (3 as50's 12 dmrs loads of ammo supplies, 6 helicopters 4 cars 3 atvs) with a group of 7, I would often pick people up from various locations and drop them either at neaf or nwaf. So this kid called archie who sounded about 10 admitted he was 10 in the side chatter and wanted a lift to nwaf, the server i play spawns you with a g36c so i am often weary of picking players up, so i got my UH-1Y and as50 and took off. he was north of cherno. on approach i asked him to drop his pistol and g36c so he did as so and i landed. he said he needed a blood transfusion and i said come crouch in front of me. i gave him blood.

you know whats coming.

I then shot him in the head with the as50 and received my bandit skin. the kid went absolutely ape shit, the funniest thing i ever heard. I called a cry baby a few times and moved onto my next victim. I am now top bandit on the server with the once friendly 7 now the bandit 4 and I regularly kill 10-15 players daily, mainly fresh spawns and people on airfields refueling choppers. (theres 50+ choppers spawned in) I do it for the reactions, been bandit now for 3 weeks, I have committed 349 Murders, maybe i'll stop at 500 ay ;) Any friendly's at elektro?

Yeah, my squad of 5 has not been killed when our hero/medic heals friendlies. Minor injury is common such as bleeding and broken legs but that is it.

Never made sense to me to do anything other than KOS everyone.

Same with me. Once I got a handle on the game, how zombies moved, how my character moves, all I did was seek out people.

But that's me. It's hard for me to play a game that doesn't have PvP. It's hard to play a game that does not promote PvP, nor have mechanics in place to enhance PvP.

This game is great because it's sandbox, so you're free to do as you see fit.

Two events soured my blood and turned me to banditry, both occurred on the same server.

I was playing on a server with custom bases that you were encouraged to build up and protect, my partner and I were both Heroes and we trusted someone and after a few weeks of helping them we forged an alliance, giving them supplies, guns, you name it.

When we were out he informed his friend where the location of our base was and he broke in, raided it, and destroyed our vehicles and tents (Fair play to raid, but he was just being an ass)

After this we moved our base, and spent a little under a month building everything up again. We had Vodniks, M107's, FN-FAL, SVD Camo, DMR's, M240, Mk.48, Urals, a couple of little birds and a Huey - The plan was to run Medevac and help other players, but also to make sure we had the gear to deal with anything that was thrown at us.

Then I guess the admin decides we're getting too cosy in the base because we log in one day and it's all gone, everything. "oh you must have been raided again" we are told.

So, screwed by our "friend" and being screwed by the admin has made me a very bitter, cynical player. It's not a case of "u mad bro?" but I will never trust anyone again. I quickly learnt that 9 times out of 10 things are going to turn out bad for someone, so it might as well be you and not me.

I don't kill fresh spawns, and I still help people out, but I'm beyond the point of redemption now and prefer the like of a Bandit over a Hero.

I was turned into a bandit i was an hero but then when I worked out in day z whats the point of being nice when you have people who are like shoot first and ask questions later so you cannot really help people beacuse when i tryed i was turned on e.g i saw someone on the ground bleeding and knocked out and then i killed the guy who was killing him and i bandaged him and gave him a blood bag he gets up and shoots me in the head so i ran back and hunted him down then i killed him and then i never trusted anyone since that time

Blood bagged 3 players after reviving them, dragging them away from a crashed URAL, and going through 3 STANAG magazines to save them, and my "Thank you" was a L337 Enfield to the ass. >.>

Yesterday on my private hive, two guys stole my SUV. While I was searching nearby, I hear my Osprey fire up. I ran back up the hill, shot one that immediately jumped in the cockpit when I started opening up with my M4A3 CCO and the other ran around wildly. In a deserate attempt to save my Osprey from being destroyed from a Bambi who can't fly, or worse, stolen, I jumped in their Huey(it was mine from earlier) which was parked facing a convenient direction, I took control of the M240 and sprayed the other. Forgot to loot them for the STANAGs and M4 that were taken out of the Osprey.

Sometimes you're driven to banditry...

I'm trying to stay positive humanity; even as a female skin as practice for Standalone.

I got bored by the lack of depth or content.

Plus the constant bitching and whinging on here made be decide 98% of the players deserved getting shot on sight and having a bus parked on their tent full of duped OP 'sniper rifles'.
