Ken Bean 175 Posted April 27, 2013 (edited) If player A shot player B, starting the fight and as long as B wasn't a bandit, player A has a logout timer of 10 minutes. In other words, a player is unable to logout for 10 minutes if he killed another survivor. This may help to reduce kill on sights as well as spawn camper. It also adds an additional challenge to PvP.--> If you attack a group, you may get tracked down by the them.--> They have a better chance to take revenge.--> Sniper will be forced to change their position.--> Since bandits are excluded, they have a disadvantage.--> It's harder to kill, one would need at least a plan of how to get away.Opinions? Dancing.Russian.Man 1631 Posted April 27, 2013 There's already a combat indicator that disables your "Abort" button for 30 seconds or until you're out of combat. But there is no way to prevent someone from disconnecting. You can just ALT-F4 and it will almost instantly make you vanish from the server.
enforcer1975 1111 Posted April 27, 2013 I wouldn't distinguish between survivor and bandit, throw everyone in the same pot.Whoever starts a fight either has to finish what he started or has must escape to a certain distance ( 500-1000m ) from where he shot first in able to log out. When a player shoots then he/she/it has to have enough distance from the point where he/she/it shot ( can be detected be script ) in order to disengage hostilities. Maybe the devs can add a timer when the player does the alt-f4 or crtl-alt-del trick the character dies. Losing connection during a fight is less likely to happen so i don't think players beeing "punished who lose connection due to bad internet" will not happen that often.

Atm I get disconnects almost every session. Dunno what's up, usually it's working.

And as i stated the majority of players are rather the "shoot, miss and DC after 30s to avoid having to fight further/or have zombies up their ass because they suck at shooting" type than the ones losing connection...
