Why does my dayz looked washed out?

Recommended Posts

When ever I see other people shots of dayz they always seem to look far more colourful than mine?. Sounds odd I know but I wondered if it was anything I could change in my settings? I have a decent setup it's ran on an alienware M14 through a Samsung monitor so that should be fine.

Check your video settings, could be the gamma setting is down or contrast

This needs to be asked I guess...

You know that you have to have full blood to see full colour; that the colour fades as your blood diminishes?

Check the saturation on your monitor. If your DayZ looks faded, it sounds like a saturation issue, since saturation is how much color is in a color. Also, I know CMY colors look muted compared to RGB, so check your monitor is running RGB, which I don't even know HOW THE HELL it could run CMY.

Then, of course, it could be the value of the color, in which you check, as the others before stated, contrast/gamma/brightness.

In Options->Video Options:

1. Ensure Interface Resolution and 3D Resolution are set to the same value

2. Disable Post Process Effects.

Start from there, then tweak settings until you're happy with the result.

might be the fact that you have arma 2 free and/or the expansion packs to arma2 which add detail to the game
