Slugshot 0 Posted April 20, 2013 (edited) How do you tell if a server is a private hive or a vanilla. I know the 2 servers I dabble in now are private hive because people on the server told me. I'd also like to find a server or a few I can play on that are vanilla. Does anyone know an easy way to tell when searching through them?Sorry, I'm learning the game I just bought it recently. Thank you for your time. Edited April 20, 2013 by Slugshot
Dayzo 182 Posted April 20, 2013 You can get 'vanilla' private hives ('vanilla' means there are no customisations), so your distinction is incorrect. You want to know how to tell the difference between private hive and the public hive.DC (DayZ Commander) has a filter called 'hide unofficial' which will display only public hive servers. So it's easy to list public hive servers.Unfortunately there is no filter for 'hide official', so when looking for private hive servers the list is mixed. You need to know:· Public hive servers usually have a letter and number designation (Eg. US321)· Private hives have a cloud and cross symbol in front of them.If you're using the in-game server filters, do yourself a favour and try DayZ Commander instead.
