Moth (DayZ) 10 Posted April 19, 2013 Sure, it rains and stuff alot! And I know there are some other servers where it does different weather patterns such as snow. But what if it was possible to incorperate different weather systems such as actual year round weather based on the server location?I.EThe weather outside is 30 degrees and snowing. And in the game it would connect to some kind of weather station type server, that relays information to the server and grants live weather. What do you all think? Just a thought!
badluckburt 974 Posted April 19, 2013 I'm all for weather variety but no need to tie it to real-life locations. I'd feel sorry for those connecting to a server located in Tornado Alley during hurricane season or locations where the weather's basically the same all year round. What I would like to see is dynamic weather affecting the environment. Lightning striking trees or houses, setting them on fire or strong gusts blowing down a dead tree that might take other trees with it. It should happen rarely so that it catches you off-guard when it occurs. Also, there is one hell of a lightning deflector in Chernarus and that's the radio tower at Green Mountain so maybe it should only happen outside a certain radius around that area. Not to mention time of day differences.I believe this happens with certain Arma missions already (different weather), one client would have rain and the other would not but if I understood GessFaust correctly, he meant that the server location would dictate the weather so if you and your friend would log on to the same server, you would have the same weather. Skat3rat 1633 Posted April 19, 2013 Instead of a weather system based on the server location, why not just have one weather system that would make since in Russia?
Shiki Nanaya 9 Posted April 19, 2013 I would log-in if there was a tornado in an actual game. That would be fantastic to see and at the same time terrifying. Heck i'd laugh if for some reason the tornado somehow killed a camper xP
