Improve mechanics and visual details

I understand that some of this is the shortcomings of Arma itself, but since the standalone is being worked on now, I think the shooting aspects of the game need to be in line with modern FPS games such as counter strike, cod, left 4 dead. That kind of smoothness when aiming and shooting at zombies or people. Also, I think it would be great the killing animations were improved think of something like left 4 dead killing animations I think it would make the game much more enjoyable. I mean from a creative point of view you can even expand upon it and make it an insane artistic game visually, almost like playing art. If these things are combined with awesome effects and visuals the game can become truly epic.

did you ever shoot a gun in your life? seems that you dont, really...

arma/dayZ is a simulator and aiming a gun in real life isn't a easy thing to do. Cod, L4D and counter strike are utter bullshit when talking about realism.

If you want to kill zombies and "gud graphiks", go play black ops 2, for fucking sake.

ArmA is a military simulator, it simulates real life ballistics and weapons. Call of Duty is a piece of cat shit game. It is meant for having fun without trying too hard, as well as L4D and CS, but they don't suck. Putting their style of action into DayZ would be a very bad idea.

Try shooting over a wall with the muzzle sticking inside like you do when playing CoD then you see the difference between real simulated iron sights and CoD iron sights...and of course the ballistics and no quickscoping...so much for the simulation aspect.

CoD and CS are arcade shooters.

ARMA is a military simulator. You aren't supposed to be able to twitch aim, lol.

Ragdoll physics are being implemented so the death animations will be more in line with games like L4D, I guess.

Obviously you don't understand that ArmA simulates real life ballistics which is a HELL of a lot different from COD which basically shoots a bullet from the center of your screen with hardly any physics affecting it. Here's a key difference in ArmA the bullet is spawned in the chamber of the gun and follows a trajectory, in COD the bullet is spawned in the middle of your screen following a direct flat path. They're not similar in the least.

CS arcade shooter, what? Did you guys ever play counter strike at all? It's way better than COD in any aspect and it actually takes skills to shoot in that game.

Well...both are arcade shooters...and i played both. The only difference is the graphics, playstyle and setting, there is literally no physics at all in both games ( ok grenades fly and fall back to the ground but that's it - instahit <--- lol?).

Comparing any of those games incl. the BF series ( which has some fake physics ) with ArmA is like comparing apples and oranges.
