Hacking - the untouchable fire

Had a decent setup, died, respawned. Fire everywhere. Was a rubbish spawn so I thought I'd try catch it and spawn again. Nope, couldn't touch it. Every time I came close, it'd disappear into the distance. Thing is, I have a Hilux stashed away and loads of gear in it. If I come too close, I'm sure it's going to burn up and disappear.

Most likely a graphics glitch from a helicopter crash. Other players may or may not see it. I used to wonder what it was all the time...

"Hey, there's a massive wall of flames"

"Where? I don't see it"

"Are you kidding, it's all around us"

"I don't see anything... are you high?"

Yeah, it's just a graphical glitch, won't harm you. The only thing from the crash that can hurt you are the explosions, but those go away a minute or two after the crash. Not sure why this problem hasn't been fixed yet, but it doesn't have anything directly related to hacking.

Yeah, it's a forest fire usually caused by a heli or plane crash. Can't hurt you.

There is some controversy over this. Some state it's the heli bug, others think it's a sign of an old/adapted cheat script. AFAIK it's never been fully resolved.

Regardless if I see it I log off.

Its definately a heli/plane crash i should know, ive certainly caused a few. :blush:

Its often only visible to those that have logged in after the event.
