flam3 3 Posted June 19, 2012 Stop trying to push us into using this!I for one do not like Six Updater at all, it wasn't as efficient at downloading the files as doing it manually, I don't mind downloading the files manually and placing them into a folder, it really isn't that hard. It now seems that after each hotfix you've been trying to push us to use Six Updater and have been making the download speeds of downloading them manually a lot slower than normal. The first time I downloaded DayZ, the files were done in a matter of seconds, now it takes a matter of minutes and this is starting to climb as more hotfixes come out. (My internet speed is fine, as I know this would be the first thing that comes to mind.)Also, i've noticed that you are trying to get us to torrent the files, I am also not a big fan of torrenting anything, no matter how small of a file it is, you may say it's faster, but it surely couldn't have been as fast manually downloading things before you introduced the Six Updater, I just don't trust torrenting files at all. My dad torrents plenty of movies on his laptop but he has also had his fair share of computer viruses as well.I don't know if this is just coincidence or not, but it's starting to get on my nerves that the download speeds for manually downloading are getting slower and slower and you are pushing torrent downloads and Six Updater. I can't be the only one that thinks this, as I have seen a couple of others say they dislike Six Updater as well.

flam3 3 Posted June 19, 2012 Yeah lots of people have problems.Personally I think it's a great program but I've heard people complain about slow download speeds.First time I tried it, it was at 14% of updating DayZ for a good 10 minutes. The program was still running and hadn't crashed. I gave up after that and just stuck to manual updating. Thanks for the calm reply!
Insaniac (DayZ) 235 Posted June 19, 2012 For me it's the only way to run Dayz, manual installation does not work at all and Six-Launcher is extremely fast, it takes on average about 4 to 5 seconds to download and install updates no to mention the fact that its easier for those players that don't know how to install mods very well. I mean you see it the first time you click on download DayZ it is right there and is a lot bolder and has much larger text that the manual mirrors... then if you choose one of the mirrors it says that Six Updater is recommended, again... not to mention that download speeds for the manual downloads are getting slower and slower when according to Insaniac it's a hell of a lot faster. Before we know it Six Updater will be the only way to download/update DayZ.I find it easier to update it manually than go through Six Updater, as Six Updater wasn't very reliable when I tried it. I just feel as if this Six Updater thing is getting pushed onto us is all.
