Going to give this a go! i7 2600k - GTX560 - 16GB Corsair Vengenace 40-50 in the wilderness, 25-35 in towns. Will update when I have tried it. EDIT: Very slight increase, around 5fps but I'm happy with that. Thanks!

Gave up on DayZ to be honest, none of the recent "performance fixes" have actually helped whatsoever, it's just getting worse and worse. That's why i'm waiting for The War Z, at least they have a game engine that works. Not to mention that it is a stand alone game and not a mod. http://thewarz.com/

Still waiting on a "performance tweak" that actually sorts the framerate issues most are having in major towns. Don't get me wrong, I love the game but going into a major town is basically a core aspect of gathering supplies as it's along the coast where you spawn.

Don't worry about it, I was very lucky to find a single morphine injector and have escaped!

I am unable to get out of the barracks due to have broke my legs and I cannot vault over the bench =( EDIT: Sorry Frank, I was ingame to see if I could get any morphine from the rooms in the barracks, turns out it's a no go.

I'm running a Q9650 at the moment, and it's done me good for a couple of years now. I will be getting an i7 in the next couple of weeks though. Seems a bit daft that to play a mod (damn good mod at that) with stabl framerate you'd have to upgrade your system? I suppose it puts my mind at ease a little to know that i'm not the only one having the issue, not to mention that you're running 2 more cores than me, Booker. Hopefully one of the patches will actually fix it instead of saying it has.

I have just found a M136 but it seems like one of the doors in the barracks thought I shouldn't have it and shut itself on me and broke my legs and I have ~5000 blood. My friend (Whom I know in real life and was beside me at the time) tried to go out to get me some aid, but unfortunately failed and got himself killed. So i'm begging someone to come to my aid as this is my very first time finding an incredibly rare weapon like the M136, and I would very much like to be able to use it later on down the line, thanks! If rescued I would be more than happy to be a bodyguard for whoever saves me, they just need to ask me on Steam if i'm free and i'll do my best to come help escort you to your rendezvous with your patient! Title says it all. I can play the game fine if i'm not near a major town, but as soon as I start to get closer to being actually in a major town, such as Cherno my framerate starts to plummet the more I go into the town. It doesn't matter if I change settings or not, or alter the launch options, I go into a major town grab what I can with my framerate at ~15 without getting killed and get out of there, and of course as soon as I go out my framerate starts to become stable and well, playable again. Anyone else have this issue?

I honestly don't think these "performance tweaks" are even helping. As soon as I reach a major town such as Elektro or Cherno, my framerates plummet to near unplayable. It's starting to get on my nerves, this mod is amazing and has great potential, but the fact that the performance seems to be getting worse than it is better is making me lose interest in the mod. I understand that it is in alpha stage, but it should at least be playable with decent framerates. (Which is has been in past patches, but seems to be deteriorating in my opinion.)

Honestly, I didn't enjoy it at all. I've been in firefights before, yeah your adrenaline pumps, but I don't go off screaming and cursing at them if I kill one or two. I just found the video rather annoying, and felt it was rather pathetic how you acted when you killed them.

Shame on your 3rd person usage. And I think you got the guy after the first couple of rounds... if you played in first person you'd only have to fire a couple at his head =/

Great, another thread that simply asks if the game is optimized or not, (which it isn't, those saying they have decent rigs or whatever and are running with steady frames are just lucky) turns into a "My rig is better than yours and can get 300+fps on all ultra high settings". Before you start, i'm not jealous, I have a decent rig myself, I just don't see the need to boast, it doesn't help anyone it just shows what a complete douchebag you are or how much money your parents have because they buy your expensive computers. Bottom line here is that for some people on various different rigs, it runs fine, for others it doesn't. Throughout the patches, I have had horrible FPS, then after the next patch I get stable FPS so on and so forth. Some people say it's Arma II's engine that is the problem, others say it's the mod. That's why we are here, to test it.
