Dayz Commander Annoying Issue

Recommended Posts

When I download a mod or map, next to it it says there are a certain number of servers for it. I'll just use Fallujah as an example. Dayz Commander says there are 61 servers, but with all filters turned of (so anything and everything will show up), I only get about 15 or 16 servers, and some of them disappear and don't show up after the full "scan" is complete. This is the same for ALL of the other mods and maps, including regular Dayz, except if it says there are 500 servers, only 100 or so show up. Is this a problem I can fix, or is it an issue everyone has?

You will probably get a better answer at the DZC forums, Offical forum is http://forums.dayzcommander.com/

It could be that say 61 servers are running but they run different versions so it only displays the servers that match the version you have ? I honestly don't know.

I observed that the numbers don't really change there. So I don't think they represent correct counts.

I suppose it is the number of distinct servers for a mod they recorded. When a Server-Owner switches through the maps, it might count that server again and again for each map, no matter what map it runs currently or if it's running at all.

But yes, I have observed that commander shows far less than the 6000 servers it suggests. I think a lot of offline-servers are counted there too.

Yes, it's probably showing offline servers or servers that have changed maps and whatnot. One other thing that can be done though is to simply restart commander, and this generally refreshes more servers than the refresh button.

could be a couple of things try turning the max connections down in the settings and do a refresh too many connections confuse older or cheaper routers

dayz commander cant show every server its a limitation with the gamespy framework only allows so many queries it overcomes this limitation by using a cache on a server and then a refresh checks if the server is still alive with the ip/port from the cache if your router craps out processing it will see a lot a servers as dead if you keep refreshing the server list you will see different servers popping in and some servers disappearing this is more apparent in the arma browser that will only show 500 at a time sometimes you have to refresh a couple of times before you can get the server you were looking for and why the ping is always way out
