Blood Transfusion Kits

Recommended Posts

Hello, I am a veteran player and just had an idea. BLOOD TRANSFUSION KIT. What this means is that a player can find a blood transfusion kit in a hospital. It would be a rare item and would go into your tools slot (like map, compass, hatchet, toolbox etc.) The rarity could be as rare as .11% chance like a lot of the high value military loot. Now the kit would allow you to give a blood transfusion to yourself but with some risks. It may be a 75% chance of it working. Let me know what you think. :)

Sounds interesting, and extremely useful. Is it one-time use? I'd prefer a one-shot version of this to a multi use.

I would exchange the rarity with bloodypes...bloodtype is given to you randomly...and you can receive blood from other players with the same bloodtype...but that has already been asked for I think.

yeah I saw that awhile ago but I totally agree with you(and others that say the same)

This is a cool idea, however part of the dynamic part of the game is the fact that (if you dont have any friends that play dayz) you have to take that risk and ask people to help you. With this I just see people hanging in the back of the map bagging themselves and not having any player interaction.

Otherwise it's -1337 pro bandit- that never dies because he can blood bag between every fight. :)

You should be able to 'craft' your own, with a chance of injuring yourself, or it just not working.

And it would be spoiled in a few hours...

Combine a funnel with a hunting knife?

Sounds like fun.

Needs a 98% chance of failure + bleeding.

I sure hope the instant heal will be removed in SA. You don't go back to 100% in an instant if you get a transfusion due to blood loss. There isn't that much blood in the bag anyway if you wanted to go from 2k blood to full.

I'm sure we've been over this.

There's ~12 pints of blood in your body, one pint of blood in a blood-bag, it takes ~1 hour to transfuse 1 pint of blood.

It'd be nice to make it more life-like, but going for total realism would mean there's effectively zero chance of a player ever recovering from serious injury within reasonable play-time.

Concessions have to be made if folk are going to survive any length of time.

Personally, I'd go for brutal "You're shot, you're fucked" rules, but most folks aren't keen.

Exactly my thinking. Bandits already have enough perks with an easier play-style with less risk of death during encounters with players, easier ways to acquire gear, a 90% majority, and now we are creating something that is mainly directed towards making their lives EASIER. People need to learn to take some risks in this game, and not just sit up on a hill in Elektro with a new-found AS50 or DMR.

Already been done on DayZ Redux...though its a 'self transfusion kit'....it converts a blood bag into one and can ONLY be done in a hospital...and you have a huge chance of it draining you of blood AND knocking you out...

I'm just glad 4/5 bandits I meet never played ArmA 2/OA without DayZ installed and can't shoot for shit.

My reply was already made for me, by Chabowski.

Well it shouldn't take a whole hour but maybe 5 min per 1k bloodbag should be enough to slow down one or the other rambo and make firefights more realistic ( "Oh shit i'm wounded i don't feel good shouldn't have attacked that bambi , better run away" ).

Bandit ( actually murderers ) is already easy enough even without perks. You just shoot everything without risk from outside towns most of the time, you always see if there is a player thanks to the presence of zeds. Even with a logout timer you just have to be far enough to log out before the zeds reach you. With scarce resources it would be logical killing out of need but with the overabundance of guns and food it's just senseless killing.
