DayZ singleplayer/LAN?

So I was wondering if you can LAN dayz with your buddy that's playing on the same modem?

We are using the same ArmA 2 Key so we cannot play multiplayer and I do not want to buy everything twice.

So anyone know? I've tried google but no good results

You can make a LAN game in the multiplayer menu of arma 2, i don't think it will allow for dayz though.

There is a way to do this but it might trigger FADE (the copy protection) if you do it incorrectly.

Also you would have to run something like a Bliss server (or however it's done these days) and both connect to it so that's extra complication. TBH it might work out easier/quicker for you to do a bit of overtime and just buy another copy of the game
