DAYZ Watch List Thoughts

I was recently betrayed after playing with a kid for a week and he went off the deep end because I cracked some glass on his Huey by accident. He then proceeded to destroy my entire server that I've been working on for 3 months. I'm rebuilding now but i had an idea..

Create a log for any DayZ users to edit that lets them warn other players about certain Players/Teams/Clans that are back stabbers or hard to trust or even just telling people how to deal with them.

This log will be for everyone to see, even the people on the watch list can see that they have been tagged and why they've been added to the watch list.

Now I'm not saying add every bandit crew to the list because that's just what they do, this would be more towards people that are hard to trust or have turned on other players.

This might not be a perfect idea but i think something along these lines would benefit the newbies the most and save people who want to have a nice friendly server from being killed.

Sounds interesting. I think it would be pretty good if done right and if you are selective about who is allowed to add people to that list.

1.7 Million people play this mod... and you want to create a list that people have to sift through? They already have a non-BI private server ban list. Why not just use that?

I thought he just meant a list for the private server? Although i have been wrong before....

I'd like to see players earning in-game reputations from other people and word of mouth, but a list to report people you consider untrustworthy? I don't like it.

It'd just be full of butthurt and bitching.

For some folks deception is a tool of the trade. It might be an underhanded tactic, but it comes with the territory.

Yeah it sucks when you get fucked over, but it's a vital part of the experience IMO.

I'd spread the word and warn other folks in game, but I wouldn't "report" anyone to a list of liars.

EDIT:

I also wouldn't like it if everyone who meets another player feels the need to Alt+Tab out so they can search for them on a report list.

I think this would ruin a bit the interaction with players that are met on the road.

It gives you a special feeling when you don't know if someone will backstab you or not, If you know then you just avoid the whole situation.

In real life you wouldn't have this board telling you who is good or bad. And by having side chat, that already can start creating a certain reputation on people.
