Outdated DayZ

Recommended Posts

I've downloaded DayZ with steam, which runs 1.62, but most of the servers run a newer version. I just got DayZ this week and i don't know how to update it. Should i just get it from the DayZ website? If so which is better DayZCommander or Play WithSix?

Did you download the beta patch?

dayz commander is probably your best bet though

I still do it the manual way, I have no clue why though

DayZ Commander is by far the easiest to use and yet still gives you the most detailed options. I would definitely use it. Once you've installed, it does all the work for you other than you having to click on the download box for the update.

Don't use steam. Use DayZcommander. It has a custom server browser superior to the Arma 2 server browser and it let's you download other forms of dayZ as well.

Dayz commander is probably the most foolproof way of getting the mod working and launching custom maps. Although if you can be bothered i suggest learning how to launch DayZ through steam launch options, since its more reliable and for me dayz commander sometimes launches dayz without the beta patch (IDK why). I'll tell you how to launch it though launch options if you want to know.
