Skin perks

Recommended Posts

So I've heard people talk about the perks for hero/bandit skin in the past and I was wondering if they were myth or real.

What I've heard is bandit skin is + some percent change of ammo spawns, and some other stuff.

Hero skin supposedly gives better food drops and the vest on the skin gives a 30% bullet damage reduction and faster run speed.

So is this a myth or is this real?

No you heard wrong The bandit skin gives you super speed and with the hero skin you can fly.

But honestly if anyone believes that BS needs some sense knocked into them.

Bandit skin does nothing.

Hero skin increases movespeed slightly, and you are immune to weak pistols. For some reason.

so it doesn't do anything?

Thanks man.

But in all seriousness

With the hero skin you can run faster and sprint for a longer duration then finally you are immune to weak pistols when shot in the torso

EDIT: aaand Rage steals my spotlight, you butthole.

Its not a perk. In Arma 2 some characters have bullet proof vests. The hero "perk" is a certain "heavier" class in the PMC group that has a bullet proof vest. Whilst as the survivors that you spawn as are "light" PMC units and do not have a bullet proof vest. In arma 2, All units that wear bullet proof vests actually simulate real ballistic reaction to light and medium weight kevlar. So its not a perk, Its just part of the game. The hero skin is simply a heavier equipped Arma 2 PMC unit.

Where as the bandit skin doesnt have any perks because they dont have vests. You can try it out in the Arma 2 editor. Spawn any military unit that has a vest on and shoot him a few times with a few different guns. You will notice that sometimes when you shoot the vest area, A white dust sort of substence sprays out instead of blood. This means the vest was effective at stopping the bullet. A good way to tell if your vest works in game when someone shoots you is to pay attention to your screen. If it works you will notice the screen shakes, But your character wont go "UGH" and the screen wont flash. It will shake tho.

I hope this was helpful.

only for 2 or 3 shots.

this was... unwillingly tested on me when a friend shot me with his glock to test it out. he thought i was invulnerable completely and all the sudden he just opens up near automatic speed and kills me lmao.

The vest on the pmc skin is only effective against 9mm or lower say a makarov, anything like a revolver will just punch straight through.

A bandit skin player's backpack is invisible, making them a little more stealthy, and of course they have the benefit of killing people and taking their gear.

I'd like to second the "bandit skin hides your backpack."

I strongly prefer having the bandit skin to having the survivor skin for that reason. I also never pick up camo skin for that reason.

The "shoot on sight" bit really isn't that bad. You get shot a lot as a survivor anyway, and killing people for gear is worth it.
