Which CD Key is in use during DayZ?

Recommended Posts

Which CD Key is being used when I play DayZ? I bought Arma II: Complete Collection($39.99) on steam, and I want to play on the same server with my brother. I heard that you can't play on the same server with someone else if they have the same CD Key. I don't want to buy the complete collection again. So would installing Arma II: Complete collection on my brothers computer through my steam account and then just buying "Arma II"($12.99) to obtain a new CD Key for my brother, make it work?

Operation Arrowhead's CD-key is used for DayZ.

So, correct me if I'm wrong, but this is what you want to do:

- Buy ARMA 2: Complete Collection for yourself.

- Install everything in the bundle onto your brother's account.

- Buy ARMA 2 to get a new CD-key for your brother.

- Install the complete collection onto your own computer as well.

- Try playing with your brother, who is using your Steam account while you are playing on the account as well.

What?

You can't even log into one account from two computers at the same time. (Only through the web-browser and/or mobile device.) Edit; Unless you meant that your brother would, after you installed the complete collection, use his account instead. That wouldn't work as Steam wouldn't let his account launch the game even if he had the files for it.

In order to run DayZ, you need ARMA 2 and ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead.

You can get ARMA 2: Free instead of buying ARMA 2, so you would only need to buy A2:OA.

You NEED to have two separate accounts and both of those accounts must have a legit, working copy of ARMA 2(or Free), AND ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead. You have to buy OA another time.

@Dancing Russian Man

Yeah, we would both be logged in into our own accounts, you understood my question pretty well. That pretty much answers my question, thanks.

I dance directly into victory.

The victory of superior knowledge and the ability to explain it faster and better than others.

Hello there

Whilst you do have an answer, why not support the Bohemia and buy the full games? You get a bucketload of content including missions and a campaign and better textures to boot.

You'll be sorry.....

He'll be more then sorry...

He will have a Death Squad sent from the Emperor himself to hunt him down, until he buys the lovely games that are the Combined Operations.
