Ziliphade 20 Posted March 18, 2013 I am in a group (as clearly depicted in my profile image) and I don't play in that nonsense manner. My group plays everything from Vanilla to Custom, we don't mind going on foot for miles, but a vehicle does make things easier you know. After all, they are in the game for a reason.I already cleared this with Inception but for the sake of you not getting the point I will repeat, Bandits that are too afraid to even move form one small town to another without a vehicle filled with people with them and when they get to their destination there is at least 1+ (often 3) snipers watching their every move, it is rediculas, and before you say it I am NOT saying this type of play is invalid it is just annoying and the servers with all the extra shit encourages it because it is even easier to do. Ziliphade 20 Posted March 18, 2013 Nobody plays vanilla because it's too hard. Why fuck around with darkness when you can get a 24/7 daylight? Why creep past zombies when you can start with a pistol? Why search endlessly for vehicles when you can have them spawn, fully repaired, in every single town?Welcome to the watered-down slurry that is new DayZ, where private servers and private loadouts are king, and the A.D.D. as fuck wannabe DayZ players rule. Can't learn to find a pistol in loot because they're brought up on this shit like CoD where your lifetime is measured in seconds and the best weapons are handed to you the moment you start playing. So they take the easy route. And goddamn, the standalone is gonna be such a culture shock. It's going to be hilarious.Besides bandits being sissies I also considerd the fact that people such as Rooster Teeth and Kilplix posted videos of this in the past, and that obviously lets the (here comes originality) cancer flow right in. DemonGroover 8836 Posted March 18, 2013 It does seem to be hard to find decent vanilla servers nowadays. Especially on the other maps - they all seem to enjoy placing 500 vehicles around the map.I honestly don't see the point of extra vehicles, starting gear etc etc. Hell, one server i spawned on gave me everything, including a DMR. Where is the fun in that? I crept up the beach and went prone on a hill to have a look round when i was promptly sniped. To each his own i suppose but i for one will never play on a server if i see starting gear or 250+ vehicles in the title.

bad_mojo (DayZ) 1204 Posted March 19, 2013 What I hope for in standalone is that the main hive servers be the only ones that are displayed on the in-game server browser by default. To get to the private hives you'll have to manually add the server or maybe change the filters to show private. If people don't want to play normal dayZ, fine, I don't care. But, it shouldn't be confusing and difficult for new players to find vanilla servers. That IS dayz after all.

bad_mojo (DayZ) 1204 Posted March 19, 2013 It was just him spamming his non-vanilla server and you pointing out the fact that it wasn't vanilla. I recall something about bringing a friend gets you a coyote pack and pistol or some sort of bullshit marketing tactic.
