Bolt-Action animation

Recommended Posts

Ran a search, did not see a suggestion for this. But the Mosin Nagant Thread below got me thinking about it, I would really like to see the animation of the person actually pulling the action back to load the next bullet, right now there is just a set amount of time between the rounds. Would be more immersive if animations for certain weapons were correct. Such as pulling the action back on the nagant or enfield to load the next bullet after you've fired. Just a thought.

Here is a video of what I'm suggesting. He kind of does it wonky because the action is on the right side.

The bolt animation for the Lee-Enfield was incorporated in the Invasion 1944 mod. Ideally, all bolt rifles would have bolt animations.

Ideally every action would be suitably animated.

That's a lot of work, but it would be AWESOME.

Everything from changing shoes to refilling a magazine to checking the time on your watch.

Maybe that sounds excessive, and maybe it is, but I think it would really bring characters to life.

I have to strongly agree with this one. Even CoD2 had a bolt animation for the Enfield. xD

I remember when all CoDs were set in the 1940s... sigh.

To be fair, most of the IW guys that worked on the first few CoD games were the same guys that dev'd the old MoH games. They'd done the WWII time period to death. xD

Anyway, back on topic... :)

But it would be nice to get some old russian carabine-weapons in dayz. Because, thats real. An average household has no AK74 at home or machine-gun. OK - if they are terorists they have it at home :D

Well with Chernarus having so many military bases you could argue that the civilians raided them for supplies and weaponry during the early days of the infection. But I know what you mean, I'd like to see some more civilian weaponry too. It would add to immersion for me.

...otherwise DAYZ ends in a "hightech-war" .... :P

now back to topic... - Also the shooting-sound of the enfield sucks...

Can I change the weaponsound of my own? (in a file or etc.)

You'd probably get kicked for using modified files.

There was a suggestion for integrating custom weapon sounds in DayZ a few days ago though, I'll try find the link...

Here it is...

This isn't on topic though, we're supposed to be talking about adding bolt animations to DayZ. xD

I'd at least like to have the bolt action sound played after firing. It does it for the Lapua(LRR), but that seems to be the only one.
