What are your stories of friendship or betrayal?

Recommended Posts

So I have a core group of guys I game and film with... The addition of new people is usually tedious and really awkward because you never know if they are just playing you, or if they are genuinely good people..

fortunately I have had some good luck with making those choices and adding to my core group, but I have heard some really disturbing stories where people have been befriended and after a whole week... get screwed over... now thats devious...

This is my story

And this is my journey

I look forward to hearing each of your adventurous... or disturbing stories...

True story:

I was on my 3rd day of playing. Relatively new, I died several times already and the best weapon I found was an AK47 from the fire station in Elektro. I'm a fresh spawn, and the server is pitch black. I'm walking around trying to figure out how to get close to a city to grab some quick loot and maybe use the cover of darkness to explore a bit without getting insta sniped by a bush. While peaking around in a warehouse I come face to face with another survivor. Neither of us have weapons but we don't realize that immediately. We're both screaming FRIENDLY at each other for about 30 seconds. I wish I recorded it, because I'm sure it would of been funny to see. After we calm down and realize we're not yet a threat to each other, we decide to move together towards a city. My newly acquired "friend" and I are chatting a bit. He's a German fellow and I am an American (I live in Germany, so I find this quite a bit). We're chatting about how intense Day Z can be, giving each other heads ups about zombies in the area. We make our way to Cherno, and eventually to the military tents. I scooped up an axe in route, my partner is still weaponless. In the military tents my partner finds an M9 SD and an AK, and leaves me with nothing. I instantly felt betrayed. So I took my axe and lodged it into his skull. After the adrenaline rush faded from what I had just done, I looted his body and got the Silenced pistol and AK. I never saw that guy in game again, but at that moment, I realized the bandit/murder life was for me.

I loved it!! haha... I was totally misled by the in quotes... "friend" and thought it was you that was about to get the axe... great story...

So... do you run with people or are you a total loaner bandit? If you run with others.. do you trust them?

I have a group of 4 other dutch guys I play with on weekends. But a lot of the times I find my self lone wolfing it during the week. The group I run with I have been gaming with for a while now, so I know them well enough to know that they're probably going to troll me at some point, and they know that at some point I'll probably troll them if the right moment comes up. But, yes, if we're all the right mood and playing seriously, I trust them.

KoS is an easy method of play. Developing a relationship and trust and then turning on the person...that's brilliant and takes as much talent as your best non-lethal bandits or heroes.

Well betrayal...dosen't happen much unless it's one of those days when i'm desperate for friendship in dayz.

but back in early stages of dayz i made quite alot of friends that had choppers and gave me a lift all the time and on occasions loot.

haha, its all part of the game,

Ive chosen to take the hero story line.. but I find that I trust less than I thought I would as a hero...there arent that many of us out there..most of the time its ghillie suits and new players so you really dont know what you are getting into... it isnt that I like bandits, but I realize its a part of this games world,

So what about you? where you ever bandited? or went out of your way to help someone? whats your story?

So you are mostly a loaner? and tend to stay away from people unless you have too? truthfully a smart move..

Well my story is about how I got backstabbed. I was playing on a private hive and was transferring gear from my UAZ to my tents on Drakon island(The island just SE of Electro for those who don't know what it is). I was swimming back and forth between land and the island transferring stuff. As I was putting some FN FALs into my tent, two AS50 shots ring out. Stupidly I take cover behind a rock. A few minutes later the sniper takes me out after he had changed positions. I get a spawn right next to the island and start swimming for my body. I grab my gear and then I see the sniper running for my UAZ. I quickly take him out. He was in a different TS channel and so I hopped into his channel and asked him if he was the one who had sniped me. He said he was and that he wouldn't of sniped me if he knew it was me. We weren't friends but we weren't enemies either so I somewhat believed him.

He ask for his gear back and I tell him to let me think about it. He had all end game gear. I could simply keep his gear and my gear I already had, or give him back his gear. I decided the latter. I was trying to be a nice guy. I give him back his gear and he shoots me instantly, taking his gear and my gear I had spent two weeks collecting. I vowed revenge and that I would kill every mother fucker I came across from that day on. I have stayed true to that. His ass is still alive but I will kill him eventually. My once, friendly, trusting self, has now turned into a serial killer. I am no longer out to make friends. I am out to make enemies and my name feared.

I don't really like killing people for no reason.

Whenever I join a new server, I am friendly until I find a friend.

After I find a friend I usually become less friendly. I have been friendly though. I remember on a Namalsk server me and this guy I teamed up with flew around and saved some people from Bloodsuckers and Zeds.

It depends for me I guess. I have pretty good luck finding people to join up with.

Here's something I've experienced:

I spawned near Cherno and decided to journey to Stary Sabour, though on the way I met someone. I decided to take him along with me and we found a Ural which needed some scrap metal. Luckily I had some, so I repaired it. While we were driving to Stary, he told me he had a friend who'd just spawned near, obviously, we went to pick him up. He was no where in sight where my so called friend had told me he would be. Then he suddenly yelled "the car's going to blow run!," and I suddenly knew I had been tricked. He got out of the car and his friend popped out from behind a tree. I tried to drive away but they kept shooting the car (His friend had a M4A1 I think) and it got badly damaged, so I got out of it and broke my leg. After that they shot me and I was killed in cold blood.

I naively decided to help some guy in Cherno.

I had recently spawned on the outskirts, made my way into the city and managed to pick up and AK47 as well as a few mags and a bag of food.

Someone approached me asking for help, we played around for about 10mins trying to fix up a bus then I decided to lead them to a shotgun I found earlier.

They decided to fire the shotgun which caused us to get pinned down in a room, each shot we fired in defense attracted more - rather than actually shoot their way out they took the cowardly way out and shot me instead.

I never normally help people I don't know and I doubt I really will do so again any time soon, anyway.
