Weapons I Want in DayZ SA

Recommended Posts

The army was going to get the m24 in 30.06 but they could not make the ammo in good quanity for it at match grade so they went 308

They did not go .308.. The M24A1 is 7.62, The M24A2 is in .300 Win Mag and the M24A3 is in 338 lapua.. The .308 is NOT in use with the US armed forces, it is a hunting rifle round.

Wow this thread grew. Off the top of my head:

-Mosin-Nagants

-rare spawn of Nagant gas seal revolver

-Tokarev

-somewhat rare PPSh-41

-.300 Winchester Magnum bolt action, don't really care, something like a GAP, HS Precision, or a Surgeon (or European equivalent)

-more scoped hunting rifles, .243 Tikka, Browning A-Bolt, SAKO 85... more stuff like that

-Russian rifle, maybe T-5000, Lobaev

-a dangerous game bolt rifle in a big caliber (.375 H&H maybe) with a 2.5x or 3x scope

-scout rifle, ~3.5x scope

-change the .45 revolver to a .357

-Yarygin PYa

-PSM

-obrez

-AK-74M, RPK

-Tantal

-PKM

-AK-105

-Saiga-12

-RPG-7V

1: Most of the weapons you're suggesting haven't been used since WW2, and some were loans to Russia and are no longer used. I wouldn't suggest any of those.

2: Maybe gas masks against gas?

3: WHY LAUNCHERS? I wouldn't mind if the RPG replaced the LAW, but I don't want both :)

M1 Carbine .30 Cal

M1 Garand 30.06

SKS Rifle

Ruger Mini 14

Remington 700

Norinco Model 97 or Winchester Model 97

1903 Springfield

M14 iron sights only

Beretta PX 4 Storm

Sig 226

Sig P6

HK 45 (Not a USP)

Webley MK IV

1: I think Sig Suar (?) pistols are very classy, thus their use in a lot of James Bond-esque movies, but I don't think they'd be a functional choice for post-apocalyptic hell.

On that note, I think the Makarov is going to be a real b!tch to clean/take care of in the SA.

2: Why the SKS? That's certainly not a super rare weapon. Maybe when Russia learns headshots are more fatal, they started replacing their soldiers with marskmen?

3: M14 w/ ironsights would be fun. The M14, metal or wood, is one of the coolest looking rifles made :)

Sig Saur 226 is designed to be used by the navy seals, as far as guns go I would take a dirty muddy sig over 90% other pistol makers and know when I pull that trigger the gun will go bang. Cleaning and take done of a sig is easier IMO then a glock or beretta.

Converting a cold-war era S12 is easier than cleaning a Glock...

And I'm talking the crappy-made, shunt-missing, undrilled, full-block, jamming, crappy S12s that were originally made.

I bet lots of civilians have Mosins, they're cheap. The Nagant revolver would be for fun. The Tokarev is still pretty common especially with remakes from most of the ex-Soviet countries, Egypt, and China. PPsh-41 is just cool and since 6 million were produced I bet plenty are still kicking around in backwater militias and among criminals.

3: WHY LAUNCHERS? I wouldn't mind if the RPG replaced the LAW, but I don't want both :)

RPG-7s are seen in every little conflict in Africa and the Middle East, as well as in Albanian, Croatian, Serbian and Bosnian militias and irregular forces in the thousands during the 90s and probably today as well. I'd like to see it with the OG-7 high explosive warhead because the normal PG-7 basically only kills troops if it hits them in the chest, which is pretty unrealistic.

I asked why more launchers, not why the RPG. I don't have a problem with the RPG being implemented if it replaced the LAW. I'd make for a bad-ass anti-Bandit ambush. Imagine hiding on a roof of an industrial building in Cherno and making essentially a mortar shot on an incoming GAZ while 4 teammates run along the coast with AKs to clean up survivors.

1)More civillian weapons and modern Russian police and military guns for ex-Soviet country like Chernarus.

http://dayzmod.com/f..._60#entry923078

2)

Most of the weapons you're suggesting haven't been used since WW2, and some were loans to Russia and are no longer used. I wouldn't suggest any of those.

I'm a member of Ural Shooting Club, and i say : WW2 weapons are often used by hunters because:

-millions of them have been conserved on the military warehouses, and then a lot of them were sold to hunters (or given to police like a pistol Stechkin APS).

Just imagine:we still got dozens of milions AKM-based guns(for every citizen of Russia, for every kid and grandmother) lying in oil in underground bunkers. All we can do is utilise them(it's not cheap process) or sell to African/Asian countries(they got enoth of AKM allready),or simply to convert them to semi-automatic version like VPO-133 "Vepr-K" and sell it to hunters for 330 bucks

-they are very cheap and effective(SKS,for example costs near 280$ and you can buy it in every gun shop in every small town),reliable.Spare parts and ammunition for them are very cheap too.

-criminals are still using Tokarev TT as killer's most common weapon(some corrupted military warehouse keepers selling them to bad guys).

Anyway, why i should buy CZ550 .308 for 1300$,if i can buy Saiga 308-1 in plastic for 550$ ?Yes,maybe it won't be as accurate as CZ,but in the hunt it will do the job's done and it's semi-automatic.

Yes,some of our members got Remington(1200-3000$) Steyr AUG( almost 4000$),or even Z 10(5000$),but this is rare birds.

To be honets, most of us got several guns for different situations(for plink ,for sport, for hunt or just for pleasure to own it).

3) i want to see some versions of obrez in the game(it's sawed-off shotgun or riffle)

We need less military weaponry, and more civilian hunting weaponry. Also, why would there be German/American weaponry in a post-Soviet state? Especially Spec Ops weaponry.

Is there really a need for shooting freshspawns? FFS...

I'd like to see some "Home-made" weapons.

E.G.

Two pipes, one fits snugly over the other, depending on their size you could fire a grenade round from it by loading the pipe with the nade and using one of the pipes as a firing pin.

You would extend the pipes till they almost came apart then slam them together so that the bottom pipe strikes the nade round and ignites it and propells it.

Smaller pipes could be filled with scrap metal, bits of old tin cans, screws and bolts... a nade round could be opened up and the gunpowder taken out or a mixture of salt peter/coke/nitric acid or what ever chemicals are used to make gun powerder could be used instead and you have yourself a highly inaccurate, long reload, wide area of effect boom stick :D

I've not put a load of thought into this as it is all off the top of my head at the moment, but I hope you can see the kinda example of home made weapon I was trying to get accross...

P.S. Trip wires, nades and buckets of bolts... INSTA CLAYMORE!!!!

I meant along the coast to move into the city and kill the bandits in question. I didn't mean from the south-east to the north-east killing every unarmed player in question.

Where do you live? I don't know any "Small towns" that sell SKS rifles in that abundance.

ugh another thread trying to replace weapons with other weapons ..No we should not do that. I know a kid that lives near me who owns a lot of Russian weapons, who is to say some Russians over there don't own American, Swiss or whatever else s nationality of weapons.

Plus that one cyberpunk pistol... That's not a real gun

I know you can buy a AR15 or Glock 17 in most American gun stores, but not heavy-duty Soviet assault rifles... XD

I live in Ekaterinburg and it's a big city, but i work for the local ISP and sometimes i travel to small towns in oblast(state) or neighbour oblast,so belive me we got SKS,Mosin and Saiga in every weapon shop in my country,so they are cheapest and most common hunting riffles.

The bad thing is,SKS and Mosin-Nagant costs in Russia almost 300$,and in USA sometimes it costs near 100$ on sale :D Our goverment loves us :)
