They don't have weapon slots (like Vehicles and Tents) ... they merely have slots. As Conkykillz indicated ... weapons take up these slots. :)

Your backpack and inventory got "slots", a set amount of spaces. Every item takes some of these spaces (Beans, Drinks, Cans, small objects like that take one slot, wheels, engines, such takes more slots)

Primary weapons take up 10 slots, which means putting a primary weapon in your backpack would require a bag with 10+ slots.

Secondary weapons take up 5 slots, which fits in pretty much every backpack.

The Czech Vest Pouch is a special backpack ... well chestpack ... it has 12 slots but can't take a weapon. :)

Be aware backpacks like to eats weapons. You may loose them if you don't have enough room.

I'v posted this before I think but, backpacks now have a weapon limitation attached to them, for example the 8 slot backpack has no weapon slot, so even though you have enough room for a pistol, you still can't carry one in your pack, this is what makes the Coyote backpack Superior to the Czech, as it has more weapon slots. (Coyote has 6, Czech with 4)

Also note, that even though a pack has weapon slot, this doesn't mean you can put a weapon in your pack if you don't have room.

Primary weapons still take 10 slots and sidearms 5. So a Coyote can only hold 2 primaries even though it has 6 weapon slots, but you could instead take with you 4 Pistols and 2 tools, (tools count towards the weapon counter) were the Czech would only hold 4 pistols and have no room for tools even though you have 4 remaining slots.

In the end the difference is almost unnoticeable, unless you just looted a camp and are hoarding as much as you can back to your own base :D

You can't smuggle a shotgun in that, but you can carry 12 large bags of trail mix.
