Really low FPS

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I have recently started playing Dayz and before I downloaded it, I checked with the website 'can I run it' and it said I could run it fine.

Whichever server I go on (with more than 4 people) I get really low FPS. When I say low, I mean between 5-9 FPS.

Can anyone help? I have tried changing the video settings to low, but it hasn't ha a major impact.

I have an AMD Phenom 8400 triple core processor (2.10 GHz)

Sorry I don't know much else, the computer was given to me by my sisters boyfriend (he used it for gaming)

Thanks

Elise

graphic card? RAM? :)

edit: it could be possible that you have an onboard-shit-card... ;)

I think it is your processor, it is running at only 2.10 GHz and you need at least 3.0 to be running the game smoothly.

That and it's a tri-core, you really need a decent quad-core for ARMA 2 and DayZ.

If anything you should up your graphic settings to get the load off of the cpu.

Hi,

How do I do that? And what should I change it to?

Thanks

Try setting everything to 'normal', anti-aliasing, PPoE, AToC and post-process effects disabled. You do this in your graphics settings in ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead.

Vsync's a weird one. For me, using vsync boosts my frame rate a little sometimes, and other times makes no difference, but other people say disabling it gives them higher FPS. OP, I'd try playing with it enabled and disabled for a little while each and seeing if you notice a difference one way or the other.
