This game hates me

So after about 6 months I decided to return to DayZ to see how it is coming along but it seems to be even more buggy than when I last played it, new issues include, version mismatching, HUGE artifacting (random gray shapes on screen), fps dropping to 5, zombies spawning on top of me or very near me, zombie sense distance being completely random, not being able to move inventory items around correctly, items not spawning, and server browser being semi-broken, and (this one may be my mind playing tricks) zombies seem to always be heading straight in the direction that I am but they are not alerted they all shamble to me when I'm hidden.

But i don't know if i should blame this on the beta since other people (mainly bandits) don't seem to have these issues whatsoever.

Is it because I installed the Steam version? (I know about DayZ Commander but i didn't think the method of install would be that big of a deal.)

I didn't know whether or not I should have posted this in bug report because it might just be something I did, and it's just a general "My game is full of fuck" situation.

You forgot it, that's why. You even forgot valentines day! You might have a better chance with the standalone, the game might not hate you then.

It is definitely because you downloaded it from Steam. Use DayZ commander. It allows you to use filters to select your game version, it will also patch the game to the latest versions. Plus it also allows you to download custom maps.

People guessed for march before since rocket is going climbing this month, looks like april/may to me. But it's done when it's done so can't really give you an answer because they game may be realesed in august, who knows?

Well they said first arround june / jully now they say this year :).

Some of the artifacting (random gray shapes on screen) you having is not known issue if I'm not wrong mate, prob some sort went wrong on installation of the mod.

If you have problems with artifacting try changing the video memory in your graphics options between default and very high until it sorts itself out.

Heres one more for the bugs, water bottles, map, watch, gps, hunting knife, DMR, m1911, decent ammo for each, a lot of medical supplies, and a fully fueled bus, and then the bus gets stuck on an invisible object, i am unable to get out, a zombie comes up and beats me out of it, and then all of my controls are stuck and I die, good fucking night,

I just add DayZ commander to my steam games.
