About 2 weeks ago I let my friend use my computer and play the ArmA 2 OA mod Dayz. When I came back, he had tried to install a hack for Dayz which supposedly worked. It didn’t. After doing some research, I found out my CD key was stolen (it appears as 0000000000 in my registry) and whenever I try to launch ArmA 2 OA, it says “Bad serial given in setup”. Fortunately, my friend is willing to pay for another copy of ArmA 2 Combined Operations. I am wondering Will Buying another copy of ArmA 2 reset my CD key? I am wondering this because when I try to delete it in my registry, it doesn’t let me and says “Cannot delete all specified values”. Again, Will buying another copy of ArmA 2 Combined Operations reset my CD key, even if it is stolen and i cant delete it in my registry?

Wipe all traces of the hack, Arma II and Arma II OA from your computer.

Make a new Steam account.

Re-Buy Arma II Combined Operations.

It's always the friend that downloads the hack. Shouldn't of let your friend on your computer.

I doubt it was your friend, but, whatever. Play the game legit foo'.

When you get a new CD Key you can override it with running a new copy of both Arma 2 and Arma 2 OA. If that doesn't work find another way.

Any other way that isn't a CD Key changer.

Buying a new version of the game may or may not work. It depends if you got battleye banned. They sometimes ban your IP and so getting a new version of the game will just mean you waste your money.

You could potentionally be unable to play Dayz Mod ever again at your home unless you get your ISP to reset your IP or something.

I know its likely your "Friend" doesnt exist. But still. In case he does that is my 2 cents.

My CD key did not change by me reinstalling a different arma on a different account. Can anyone help or find out how to change a stolen key?

to fix this go to start menu, type run, press enter, type regedit, press enter click hkey_local_machine, go to software, go to "wow43688" cant remember the numbers exatly but its the only wow folder, go to bohemia interactive studios, delete arma 2 and oa folders. close the reg edit. run steam as admin. run arma 2 then exit, right click on arma2 oa, propertys, local files, verify intergrity, let it download the missing files run and exit it oa...job done. people on this forum are just keyboard warriers, ignore them and their sad lives. hope this helps you.

Or cousins.  Filthy little hack-installing, CD-stealing, trojan-loading, keylogging cousins.

personally the reason I tried to install the hack is cos I suck at shooters, an everytime im getting somewhere I get kos, dayz isn't just a shooter and shouldn't be treated as such I just wanted a fighting chance at starting a base on a fairly popular server. do I deserve to have 40 quid wasted for that? no I don't think so, however I managed to fix my game, good thing I like tinkering lol
