Too much pvp not enough survival

Recommended Posts

I do like the idea. I don't like it because it'll get rid of PvP, but it would just be kinda cool to feel like you did something when you killed a lot of zombies, you know?

What is stopping you from feeling "you did something"? If you did it, then feel it. Your choice.

The beauty of DayZ is in the lack of rules and restrictions. YOU set your own goals and achievments. If its linear you are looking for you are playing in the wrong sandbox.

For me the biggest thing lacking is the fact that we cant clear areas for a long period of time. I know the SA is going to try to fix this by implementing a set zombie count on server restart, but it's kind of annoying that we will have to kill the same zombies again on next server 8 hr. restart. Instead, let's say that there were a set amount of zombies (like 20k) that was reset monthly, but every time a player dies the player spawns like 100 zombies on the map (all scattered around). This would introduce a sort of consequence for killing fellow players.

While I would never want the game map to be rid of zombies completely, I really like this idea. It's a subtle way of making the gameworld reflect the atmosphere of the server. Players that collaborate to keep zombie numbers low can enjoy a generally peaceful server. Servers with a high PvP count or less sucessful players overall can be considered more lawless and less able to control the growing horde; focusing too much on banditry or generally failing to survive the apocalypse.

I think that's a little shortsighted. The suggestion in the OP isn't a rule or restriction; it's a feature of the game. If applied properly someone that hops onto a new server can "read" the hostility of the map by estimating the zombie numbers. Well organised players could try to make the map safer for everyone by lowering the zed numbers. The cool thing about it is that control of the zombie population is self correcting; brazenly open up on the horde in NWAF and you're likely to get your position located by bandits for an easy kill, likely spawning more zeds than you managed to take out.

There's to many people that shoot on site you should shoot if they shoot at you of course but really? Kill everyone?

Very good point here.

If i would shoot at everythin i see many of my buddies would be dead already because when you ask them where they are they tell you the exact opposite of where they are...
