Snilex 40 Posted March 3, 2013 (edited) What is your favourite weapon to kill zombies and other players? My list. For killing Zombies I'd have to say the M1014 with buckshot, one shot and they are down. And the gun feels great to shoot with. The slugs are good too but I prefer pellets. Any M4 rifle is also nice to have when I'm out looting. It takes two shots(Unless aiming at the brain but it's quicker to just double tap them). With the 30 rds you can take 3-4 mags with you if you have a camp and be safe that you wont go out of ammo. And you can defend yourself good enough against other players. When it comes to other players. I don't usually kill other players, but there are few times where there have been an active bandit around so I change my weapon to something more fitting for the situation. Also depends on the group I'm with, if I'm suppose to stay futher away I use M107 or DMR. When I'm one of them who is chasing the bandit down I either take an Mk 48 mod or FN FAL. Mk 48 mod because it's huge and if you hit you're gonna hurt the one who takes it.. If you actually hit ofcourse. FN FAL is pretty good, easy to shoot and do alot of dmg. What's yours? Mos1ey 6301 Posted March 3, 2013 (edited) I like the AK variants and Mx variants just because the ammo is so easy to come by. I'll often leave camp with the 3 mags that I think I'll need and come back with 6, lol. Also the Enfield for the same reason and it packs one hell of a punch if you have decent aim. liquidmind 320 Posted March 3, 2013 Zombies: mp5 SD, CCO SDPlayers: m14 AIM. That thing got me out of some nasty situations. I enjoy having a sniper-rifle tough, as it is faster to look through the scope, than getting out your binocs. As I hardly ever shoot, and if usually on legs or head, the damage of the gun doesn't really concern me. (as50 from the hips is boring)
burritoman259 593 Posted March 3, 2013 L85A2 holographic GL.Possibly the most versatile assault rifle there is.Other than that an M240 or an MK48 does the job for me.

Insaniac (DayZ) 235 Posted March 3, 2013 Zombie specific - M4A3 CCO, why? Because it has everything you need. It's got decent power and fire rate, a clear Aimpoint red dot sight, a fore grip to increase handling, a flashlight that Zombies can't see (like the military flashlight) and it has the ability to use SD ammo which makes it silent to Zeds, Ammo is both common and high capacity. overall it's a highly versatile and extremely underrated weapon. My second choice would be the M4A1 Holo, it has the same basic charecteristcs but the Sights and handling aren't as good, it also does not have a flashlight (which is useful for players without NVGs) but the M203 almost makes up for it, the ability to fire a smoke and hand grenades on the go rather than wait around for a 5 second animation is great and the flares are very useful for temporarily blinding players with NVG's who are less than friendly.Player specific - Mk.48, plenty of people have already mentioned that it has as much damage as a sniper, the ability to one hit K.O with a center mass shot, high capacity magazines, high rate of fire and a clear Aimpoint red dot sight. It is highly accurate too if you are experienced with it and has very good handling when prone, it's also one of the best anti vehicle weapons apart from the .50 cal's.Second choice would be the DMR, it has common ammo, great damage, a high fire rate (for a sniper) and great accuracy at long range. There are virtually no downsides to this gun apart from its lack of short range optics but it is pretty easy to fire from the hip anyway, the only reason this wasn't my top PvP weapon was because it has less than half the ammo capacity per inventory slot of the Mk.48 and is less useful at shorter ranges.I don't often like to have any more than one weapon with me at a time since it takes up a lot of room that I use for other things like vehicle parts and medical supplies so I often compromise with a gun that is similar to both my favorite Zed killing weapon and my favorite PvP weapon.Overall Favorite - M249 SAW, its got one of the highest fire rates from any of the ArmA II weapons, combine that with the versatile 5.56mm ammunition and its one heck of a gun. It can use it's own 200 round belts which feature the highest ammo capacity per inventory space and it can use STANAG magazines so it can be used like an assault rifle. because it uses the same bullet as the M4 it has the same power, bullet range and audible range, its sound when firing its far more intimidating than the M4's however. The M249 is more dangerous to players because although it has the same power as an M4 (which requires only 3-4 body hits to be lethal to players) it has a far greater rate of fire and when prone its more accurate than an M4 too. This all boils down to the M249 SAW being deadly, accurate, versatile, reliable, easy to handle and easy to maintain.
Pokey (DayZ) 103 Posted March 3, 2013 For sheer beauty: M14 AIM. This thing is so distracting to me, I just stay in first person view and Alt-look over the gun.For sheer epicness (From DayZ+): AK107-PSO/AK107-GL
Snilex 40 Posted March 3, 2013 (edited) I tried my M1014 on a friend earlier with both buckshot and slugs. The buckshot did alot of dmg on him, at close range while the slug didn't do half as much. Did not knock him down though but with one clean close range shot and another hit would take down another player with out a doubt.I shot my friend in the stomach as well.
