Lag During Zoom/Scope (Can you reduce it?)

Recommended Posts

I run all of my graphics etc on high and have great FPS while running around however when I hold RMB (right mouse button) or enter a sniper scope I seem to have lag and it bothers me and affects my performance. What settings should I change and to what to help this problem?

Thats weird then. And by the way I wasn't trying to be rude when I suggested that. I had similar problems before and kind of stumbled on to the smoothing thing and it helped me out. I was genuinely just trying to help. Is it frame lag? or just almost seems like your sensitivity is lower?

it could be. maybe try bumping it up a bit and see what happens? I know the sensitivity is definitely meant to slow down a bit in scope/sight to simulate aiming the gun. Experiment is all I can say. Not sure why else it would run ok anytime other than scoped, I actually get a better framerate while ADS

  • Enable fraps or some sort of FPS counter
  • Go into your scope view
  • While you are looking in the scope, open the graphics settings
  • Lower your "Objects Detail" and check FPS
  • Profit

I have a shit-hot graphics card and I still lower it to "low"

AFAIK, the "Objects Detail" puts more load on your CPU (because more objects and polygons are drawn on screen). The rendering of them isn't a problem for your GFX card most likely, just the fact that there's more hit boxes, LOD's and so forth to calculate.

EDIT: Ninja'd!

put obeject detail in very low it will fix it

This sounds like the game is having trouble loading all of the objects. Try settings your VRAM to default.

If that doesn't work, the only thing I can think of is that you might need an SSD.

main culprit of that zoomed in lag is your view distance is too high. most servers lock view @ 1000-1500. switch your view distance to the lower of the two and see if that helps you.
