Ratsmon 131 Posted March 2, 2013 Lately I've seen people trade so ridiculously that I couldn't imagine it happening anywhere. I've seen people trade AS50's for tents or Jerry cans. Its reasonable if a person really needs Jerry Cans or Tents but man. Jerry cans are common, AS50's are extremely rare and people are giving them out like they're beans. So anyhow I was thinking of a system on how to make trading a bit easier. For example:There are weapons/tools and stuff which are:CommonUnCommonRareVery RareExtremely RareAS50 is Extremely RareJerry can is common. How about 2 Commons make a rare, 2 rare's make a very rare, 2 very rare's make a extremely rare.So in order for having Jerry cans trade for an AS50 you would need 16 Jerry cans in order to earn anything from that deal. That way we could make the economy system work better. If you want an economical way of the situation, imagine everyone has different values for the euro, someone thinks 1 Euro could get him 50,000 sheep, and someone thinks that half an Euro could get him popcorn. Imagine the fuss that would create.TL;DRNew Economy system for tradingCommon + Common = UncommonUncommon + Uncommon = RareRare + Rare = Very RareVery Rare + Very Rare = Extremely RareCredits go to the DayZ Wikipedia entries which help in deciding what is rare and what isn't. EdgarFriendly 80 Posted March 2, 2013 The problem with this is that people have very different needs and very different equipment. i may have been extremely lucky and bagged 3 AS50's and really need 2 or 3 tents and am happy to give one away to get these.I'm not saying i would but there are people out there with a lot of gear so swapping an AS50 for a jerry can or whatever works for them. Personally i don't like the AS50 so bin it off if and when i get them.
Inception. 9443 Posted March 2, 2013 The problem is the fact that trading is opinionated.I may have 12 ghillie suits but no car wheels--so, I would trade 6 ghillie suits for 1 car wheel. There is no way you can force people to follow this trading system.
thomas-tk@live.dk 39 Posted March 2, 2013 (edited) We cant just say that 16 jerrycans is equal an AS50... because its not. Its much easier to find 16 jerrricans than an AS50. Second of all, without any kind of money, prices are based on the need for a certain item, not a fixed price. Edited March 2, 2013 by Kozak
IkaikaKekai 1957 Posted March 2, 2013 Rocket doesn't want any sort of artificial system to enforce an economy. He wants it to be entirely player based, which means If I want to trade a Tank (Na Akua a me Rocket forbid that thing ever gets into Standalone) for an empty tin can I can do so.
Ratsmon 131 Posted March 2, 2013 I know I cant force anyone to embrace the price system but it was worth a shot to suggest it. Thank you all for your opinions and time to write them, much appreciated! And yes I did think how someone who really needs something would trade a more worth item for it but welp.
Barthel 3 Posted March 2, 2013 for me e.g. any Silenced weapon even Hatchet and NVG are the most important things to enjoy the game ... i dont Need any Sniper/Mashinegun oder some SA58 or L85 or something ... so i'll give them away for NVG ... easy trade (Sniper rifles are useless anyways, no Zombi-Spawn at a good distance and i'm not into PVP) also i like Camo clothes a lot more than Ghilles ... so i trade 2 ghillies vs 1 Camo ... thats my personal preference
