[Forum] Moderator Notifications

Recommended Posts

We have implemented some new notifications on the forum that allow users to receive an automated notification (similar to when you are given beans) when mod actions are applied to your topics and posts, specifically if they are moved, locked or hidden by a moderator.

This allows you to see which moderator has taken the action as well as a link to the thread and where it has been moved, hopefully removing the need for us to send a private message each time action is taken and preventing new threads being made because you can't find your original as well as letting you know who dealt with it if you wish to discuss it further.

The new notifications should be enabled by default and as with all notifications can be enabled/disabled in your settings under notification options. If you have previously changed your notification options you may need to tick the boxes under "other notifications" to enable these new ones.

One minor tweak could be disabling email notification for these by default. Not a big thing, and easily fixable in the notification options, but I don't really know if you need both a forum notification AND an email because a topic was moved.

Otherwise, cool little feature - anything which makes a mod's life easier is always good. :D

I have asked two forum members to let me know if the actions I have made resulted in a notification, none have replied so far (both are on-line).

The fact that it is a new module requires that users enable the new options, (or so I believe).

The options are at the bottom of the list.

email notification can be disabled if desired.

I think if you refreshed or loaded a new page it would have come up with the notification number as well.

You're right! Good work on implenting this mods, should be a lot easier to keep track. Also thanks for introducing me to notification options... I did not know we had this :S
