FPS Problems

I know you guys probably get tired of seeing this post but I have read all of them and nothing has helped. I used to be able to play this game with about 20-30 fps no problem on low and it would run smoothly and everything and now I only get about 5-10. I have tried pretty much everything, the RAMdisk thing, editing my config file, the loading things. Nothing has worked.

I run Windows 7 64-bit via bootcamp

2.2ghz i7 quad-core (I know pretty work but used to run fine.)

AMD Radeon HD 6750M 1gb (integrated graphics weak I know)

16gb RAM

Again with the 5-10 FPS for someone who uses an i7.

i7 processors seem to cause a lot of problems for those currently playing the DayZ mod.

Wait for the Standalone and try to make due. That's my best advice. (Might not be the general best advice.)

If you open the task manager, go to processes tab, right click on Arma 2 and set priority to above normal. I have heard this helps a little, but I have never tried it myself. I would say give it a shot, you have nothing to lose.

if you post a pic of your arma 2 graphics settings on advanced tab till we see how your running it that would help alot, plus a g/card would help as you already know and since you mention the things you've tried, i imagine you've already seen all the posts but just looking there i came across this for i7's...

if your CPU is an Intel Core i7 and OA stutters, try disabling the HT (Hyper-Threading) via the BIOS. hope this might help.

i5 and i7 gaming performance is the same!

there is no game that takes more than 4 cores!

What is Hyper Threading? can work on my 2310 i5?

in you bios setting restart your pc and press the relevant f key when it shows the splash screen at boot. its like f2 or maybe even thel del key. just read screen fast at startup and press the one for bios option. and turn hyperthreading off.

I have an i5-3570k, GTX670 and 8GBs of RAM, and I can run ARMA 2 / DayZ with maxed out graphic settings. (ARMA 2 needs to have slightly lower draw distance)

And I see a lot of people with i7 processors coming onto the DayZ mod forums, complaining about poor performance. That's the one thing I can connect them all with.

So I'm letting as many people know as I can that it's a common problem for i7 processors to work kind of poorly with DayZ.

I got an i3-2100 and a GTX 660 OC. Only problems I got is running it at 1080i/p.

Hello there,

With the hyperthreading I believe YMMV, it makes little difference on my rig. But its worth a try. If you are not confident messing around in your BIOS then I don't recommend touching it.

You can always google your Mobo's manual through google to find where the correct "switch" is.

got mine to work, one of my drivers seemed to malfunction out of no where explaining why I could play the game before but now I could not. I had tried the drivers as well but was using the wrong ones haha thanks for all the tips and advice! cant wait till the standalone!
