FPS Issues? READ!!

Recommended Posts

BEFORE YOU KEEP READING THE POST READ THIS:

Please dont change settings yet as we're working on fixing some code related bugs.

This is the cause of the recent performance issues.

Changing to custom settings will make it much harder to diagnose issues.

We will focus on the code related optimization and then parameter changes.

Hi,

I've been reading the forum because the new beta patch for ArmAII screwed completly my frame rate.

After some research I found that this might be cause due to some changes on the CPU config for the ingame, so you can actually reconfigure this.

I added this on the launch parameters and now the game runs smothly like a piece of butter:

~ removed for now ~

I used this setting on a AMD Phenom 945 3.0Ghz with 4GB 1333Mhz, the VGA is irrelevant for this settings,

Btw, im not sure that the description i added at the end of the parameters are correct, that what i think each thing does, but feel free to correct me below!

Hope someone finds this thread usefull!

Be patient and try to find a freshly restarted server.

There you will have your "true" FPS and you can config for multiplayer.

If a server runs for a few hours, the FPS on the clients degrade slowly.

I assume you're using a quad core with HT enabled. It's probably best to leave it as default. If you read up on it, you'll see there was a lot of beta testing by end users so it's most likely correct for your system. (Run the Arma 2 benchmarks to compare if you want to check).

Same goes for malloc settings.
