aussiestig 681 Posted February 27, 2013 Arma 3 Alpha will be on a 20km2 map, so a little bigger than Utes. I can't say that a game of DayZ is enjoyable on Utes, in fact it's terrible.Arma 3 full game DayZ might be better, but it'll essentially be the mod we have now, with a bigger map, better graphics and lighting, and some new weapons. DayZ SA has been focusing more on the things that make DayZ a better game, like more realistic zombies, better loot systems, better game mechanics etc.
[email protected] 271 Posted February 27, 2013 here is a question. why the fuck is everyone talking about SA and A3 like the are out already? we dont even have a release date. we dont know what the physics will be like. we dont know how clunky or not clunky it will be. we dont know if the animations will be good. does that make this thread redundant? yes i think so.Well, it has hit 2 pages though wether or not it's redundant is probably up to Fraggle. He is a mod and it his job to decide wether: To Graveyard or Not to GraveyardThough I don't really think this worth the effort.Just my 2 cents
RuecanOnRails (DayZ) 23 Posted February 27, 2013 (edited) Aussie, you are misreading the map size. It's 20^2 KM, not 20KM^2.The map size is closer to 400km^2ah never mind just re-read it in finer detail, it's on the smaller island during the alpha, with the larger island being released with beta possibly around June. There are 3 maps in Arma 3, the one in the Alpha is the 20km2 map.

ShokeR (DayZ) 29 Posted February 27, 2013 I don't think someone will play DayZ mod on arma 3.
lappihuan 26 Posted February 27, 2013 (edited) V3C1C you seem to me like, you read yesterday the fist time about Arma III...I know everyone started somewhere, but pls read more abuout a Topic before you Post something about it.Arma has hundreds an thousends of Mods, even Zombie Mods were there before DayZ was released...I think there will be a Ported Version of the DayZ mod in Arma 3 and it's RV4 Engine(Witch is the Engine, not Arma 3 Engine  ) but it will have some issues too, like other said, because its a mod. But since the Clothing, Weapon Customisation etc. in DayZ SA will be from the RV4 (yes it is, [inventory not]) there are other Limitations witch we can't say witch are (since Arma 3 isn't out now)Just drink some nice Tea, wait and enjoy :)btw. Altis will be 350km^2 ;) Edited February 27, 2013 by Lappihuan
aussiestig 681 Posted February 27, 2013 (edited) I don't think someone will play DayZ mod on arma 3.There will be someone that does it, I can guarantee. It may be called something else, and have some minor changes, but there will be an open world zombie survival game.I wouldn't really be surprised at all if razor dropped support for Arma 2 dayz mod, and moved over to Arma 3 after full Arma 3 release. attorney1977 311 Posted February 27, 2013 This is mostly guesswork, but the release of Arma 3 gives us a good indication of some of the unconfirmed features in SA.Stuff like: Arma 3 features a weight/fatigue system. AFAIK, this hasn't been talked about by Rocket for inclusion in SA, but Dayz players would be in uproar if Arma 3 got a feature like that and it wasn't ported in some capacity to DayZ.Will be getting it next week to check out the new scripting commands and java implementation. - Porting some mods over I've worked on to see how they fare or if there's anything new I can do with the engine, (not Dayz code though). Easy_Tiger (DayZ) 33 Posted February 27, 2013 Arma 3 comes out as alpha on 5.03.2013. Moding in A3 alpha will be totaly welocome. So I am 100% sure Dayz as mod will be on A3 alpha very soon. And there will be A3 engeene, user made content, ragdoll, hackers VS A2 engeene, clumzy movement, less hackers. A3 alpha will cost only 25 euro (full game after relise included) What you will choose ?Tbh Im not interested if they are still gonna use that god aweful poorly performing decade old interpreted scripting engine

sausagekingofchicago 4711 Posted February 27, 2013 (edited) Well A3 also will be 100% on steam, A3 will have totaly new engeene, new 270 km2map, new gear, ragdol ...... etc lots of new things. Dayz satndalone will be the same + updated map of chernorussbut atill I will buy Dayz SA on day 1 after relise :) just thinking about what impact Dayz SA may have coz of A3 "relise"Where do you get your info? Doesn't sound like you get it from this forum or the devblogs.I'd never even heard about ArmA until I was told about DayZ from a friend who had played it for some time. I'd have to say that they're about the same level in in my opinion; both excellent games.I heard about it back the in the day when discussing another favorite game of mine. Half the community wanted large maps to play on and the arena kids screamed "then go play arma you losers! We want tiny maps to pew pew on!" True story. Fraggle (DayZ) 15720 Posted February 27, 2013 Regarding the engine all I can say is read the devblogs rather than relying on second hand sources for your information.
RiggsUK 69 Posted March 17, 2013 ARMA3 is gonna be open to hacks like ARMA2 is, I'm getting standalone as player actions are decided by the server on that.
tilen 19 Posted March 19, 2013 (edited) ARMA3 is gonna be open to hacks like ARMA2 is, I'm getting standalone as player actions are decided by the server on that.Good argument.I have to say that I'm finding it difficult to go back to* ArmA 2's level of graphical fidelity and technical prowess after I'd experienced what ArmA 3 has to offer. Seriously, ArmA 3 is amazing. I wish they'd make the SA using its assets. The island, the equimpment (military uniforms), the weapons etc.Just feels like an unnecessary step back, you know?*yeah, it's not the ArmA 2 engine but it will look the same and perhaps perform similarly as well. Fraggle (DayZ) 15720 Posted March 19, 2013 No, it won't look the same, that's a fact. I can assure you it looks much better.
tilen 19 Posted March 19, 2013 (edited) Well okay then. I look forward to getting it.edit: I really hope we'll be able to find military equipment and uniforms in the game. I wanna go all gas-mask post-apocalyptic soldier on them Zeds. :) Edited March 19, 2013 by Tilen
DubPlate 38 Posted March 19, 2013 (edited) No, it won't look the same, that's a fact. I can assure you it looks much better. What does it feel like though? I think that's what people really care about in the end rather than version numbers. Mainly because of arma 3, I think I will be a little dissapointed if it feels to much like arma 2 you know what mean?
