thehero 119 Posted February 25, 2013 Since magazines are going to be separate from the actual bullets themselves in the stand alone I thought of a faster reload option of sorts maybe have the choice when you reload to either drop the mag right away or to put the mag back into your pocket/inventory that way you can choose in the heat of battle to reload faster but risk losing a mag or if you have a chance reload your weapon a little slower but guaranteed you keep the magazine
slivniku@gmail.com 93 Posted February 25, 2013 dunno, having two commands/buttons for reload, accidental pressing the wrong one in the heat of battle, loosing the extremely valuable mag for the gun - could be interesting I guess(although I would simply remap the quick/drop reload to nothing as soon as I'd install the game...) Uuni 74 Posted February 25, 2013 (edited) Hold R: slow reloadTap R: drops the magShould not be too complex. Great idea Edited February 25, 2013 by Uuni
lol4ever.sw@web.de 10 Posted February 25, 2013 Hold R: slow reloadTap R: drops the magShould not be too complex. Great ideaAs long as the mag then drops onto the ground, so I can pick it up in case I do quick rld because of being used to just tapping R, this is perfect.

UmBe 125 Posted February 25, 2013 press R once ==> slowpress R twice+ ==> fast
Positronica 30 Posted February 25, 2013 press R once ==> slowpress R twice+ ==> fastI think that's a better option. Single tap R for normal reload, and double tap R for fast reload and dropping of the mag. That would help to minimize accidentally triggering the wrong option. If tape is lootable in the game, one of the options should be to tape mags together, a.k.a., jungle style, letting you do fast reload without dropping the mags. Uuni 74 Posted February 25, 2013 press R once ==> slowpress R twice+ ==> fastBoth can be an option, these kinda things are simple to implement

Bat (DayZ) 230 Posted February 25, 2013 This is a fantastic idea! it would add a bit of extra depth to the gunfights, and IMO the game should push the simulation side of things even further taking inspiration of a game like Receiver :

joe_mcentire 2074 Posted March 1, 2013 well i would also suggest to implement careful and silent reloading as well as hasty and noisy reloading in contrast
flypp 21 Posted March 1, 2013 Holding "R" prevents player to press "D". So it is not an option. UmBe's way is the right one.Good idea OP.

Clumzy (DayZ) 377 Posted March 1, 2013 Hold R: slow reloadTap R: drops the magShould not be too complex. Great ideaI think that instead of having two different reloads, holding 'R' could be used for a quick ammo check, similar to Red Orchestra 2. Quickly take the mag out, check the approximate amount of bullets, and you get a notification that says 'The magazine is over half full' or 'The magazine is close to empty'.
joe_mcentire 2074 Posted March 1, 2013 wow soo much to do... this game could literally wait another 5 years to be finished...it would be the mother of all games...with shitty graphics ;)
thehero 119 Posted March 1, 2013 (edited) Haha maybe they should have an entire team dedicated to adding all the little things Edited March 1, 2013 by whosknowswho
