Dayz The Dead City

Recommended Posts

Alright, I was coming up with a map not a storyline. Simple enough zombies got into the city and the military was forced to use shock and awe to destroy the infection. Nukes dropped then they dropped napalm to stop the infection. Then the Military abandoned the City and headed for Namalsk where they studied the infections origin.

haha i feel ya man try to remember some of the retards that post here are children i think and dont quite see the world as you or i do

The buildings dont have to be destroyed.. though i do dream of a intricate city in dayz with a focus on things like "back alleys" as a means of (quick and quite) travelling around the city in a less exposed fashion as oppose to travelling in the open main roads.

Of course taking the alleys(s) route would have the risk of easily getting cut off or over whelmed easily due to the tightly constructed nature of the alleys. Also subway(s) and sewers would be fan-fucking-tastic. And maybe even randomly generated safe houses (that require a key you found somewhere to get inside) located around the city that have fuel run generators in the basement for temporary power for a shit load of other ideas..security cameras ? lights..(light above the back door into the safe house to let you freinds know where your safehouse is when they travel the back alleys..

I LOVE MY IDEAS, I'M AN IDEAS MAN..

I would like to see the city's with more depth to them. However I like the idea of being able to expand out of the city's limits and live the bush life all in one large playing area gives both aspects.

indeed this is true. i want both experiences aswell but defiantly more depth to the city(s) !

I like the Idea. Fallujah was a great map, but for its repetativness, After a while the same buildings and areas become a bit boring, A bit more detail would have been great.

A large city map would be a great idea, and give it a Walking Dead and 28 Days later feel to it. Seriously who would not play that?

Wasn't rocket a while ago saying he would like the next map to be a city type map?

Fallout 3's wasteland was a stroke of genius for gaming also, great idea and greater effect put to good use.

Just a note DayZ renders the map based on what it can SEE and if a shot message is bounced to it from the server then maybe an extra metre from you

The Fallout system only really works on a single player platform, as it means it only has many potential areas, but only has to load one at a time.

Move it to multiplayer however and it means all of those places have to be active at once as each one essentially counts as it own map, the server would have to essentially run loads of maps at once, which would actually put more strain on the server.

Oh god please no, Atlanta is a shithole. (I live there)

I'd love to see a city like Chicago or New York.

You call atlanta a shithole, then you follow up with saying chicago. I live in the ATL area as well, and its not that bad, downtown is decent for a major city, but South of 20 it gets kind of bad, every city has their bad parts, it just depends on where you live.

I kindof like that idea, have an outside area where you have to find a hazard suit before going into the city. Maybe find a Geiger Counter aswell.
