What do they mean by "Completely redone"?

What do they mean by completely redone? Like nothing will be the same from what I see from FRANKIEonPCin1080p? I'm hoping they don't make another WarZ... And I'm new to the forums, what does the picture of the beans that say "You have my beans!" right by it mean?

They mean Zombie AI, zombie skeletons, player inventory, animations, etc. will be completely redone. If you have never played the mod then you are unaware of how glitchy some of these features are currently that are screaming for a complete reworking. Lets take the zombies, they have soldier path finding so when they see you they attempt to flank your character. They are also just Arma II soldiers with zombie skin so to they increased their speed which makes them run like meth addicts. While they are still fun and workable for a mod, putting out a paid game with that zombie AI would put it on par with WarZ (well not really that bad, but it would be lazy). Lucky for all of us the DayZ developers have more pride in their work so they are looking for a complete overhaul of zombies and other issues from the mod.

Since you are new to the forum, have some beans and always remember WarZ shall never be spoken of as an equal to DayZ on here.

It will still be DayZ, just more polished with some other changes here and there.

Seeing the latest dev posted video of them recording zombie movements using MoCap, i bet they will make it a LOT better than the mod

just browse the net for changes, or look in youtube for the video with the clothing stuff at the beginning, it shows a lot of the new stuff on the map and interiors of some new houses (actually new interiors of old houses) in chernarus

they also mentioned that they will be open to people submitting new maps and stuff afaik, which sound awesome to me

It doesn't mean the game has suddenly turned into something totally different, the code has just been re-written.

DayZ was a mod, and it had some severe bugs as we all know, instead of going through the code to just change things and add in new features, it was obviously easier for Rocket to just re-write the entire thing.

One, never ever mention WarZ as an equal to DayZ anywhere on this forum. But from what I understand, you're a dissapointed customer of that game and have come to DayZ for a wholesome experience and not a rushed steaming pile of shit trying to suck up money from a mod, not a game. And secondly, alot of stuff is getting overhauled. Textures, animations, zombie skins, weapons(I'm telling you, UK59 best be in it), and new bits of the map. But I'd recommend you go ahead and get Arma 2 and the mod right now, as waiting for the standalone is a mixed bag. There is no definate release date, so its a hit and miss. But you should also enjoy vanilla Arma. Dark Buisness is a recommend by me, and search up CHKilroy on youtube and look for his vids on DayZ and Dark Buisness. I like Kilroys DayZ vids as its less about the fancy bling and player killing, and more survival. And screaming. So much screaming.

This means taking the ideas of the mod and actually making it into a game, they already have the engine which speeds things up but they are adding completely new textures, new animations, new 3D models, new bone system, better lighting, etc.

I have played The WarZ and it does have a nice feel although there is about 3 pieces of furniture, less buildings to go into, The models look like crap compared to the dayz standalone models so far.. NOBODY is friendly in that game, the ingame shop that was suppose to be "NOT PayToWin" is actually PayToWin or ruin the fun out of surviving... The Devs are douche bags who only want money...

Personally I liked certain things more about War z such as night time not being just pure black which is bad in DayZ since it's not scary that's just not fun in my opinion but overall Rocket is a true zombie fan and can actually put out the ideas he wants and is waiting till he is done with the standalone so he doesn't release an unfinished game. On top of that the development on DayZ seems to be about 500% faster.

The Beans thing is custom way of saying +1 to your reputation which in other forums usually just says "Add to reputation" or "Thumbs up".

Anything you see in the game now is just going to be better as far as graphics, gameplay, and much more.

Dayz is a mod, made by one guy with a bit of help in his spare time to just try out some ideas....... and it turned out to be maybe the most original and fun to play game of 2012.

Warz was a botched rip off of the dayz idea using a shitty broken engine, it sucks on rusty sphincter holes all day long.

The standalone is being made by the original creative genius and a team of pros with the support and backing of a major developer, they have decided to improve everything they feasibly can and will lock down code to reduce/eliminate scripting, redoing the animations, extending the map, opening most of the buildings, redesigning the spawn system, thinking about adding dogs and tons of other improvements which will be steadily added to the initial release.

Do you see the difference, how on earth do you think it could be anywhere near as shocking as warz, even if it's hallf as good as the mod it'll curl down a steaming turd onto warz.
