Is DayZ Popularity declining?

I've retreated to whitelisted private server, so I don't even bother checking the population of the main hive anymore, so I can't say if the numbers really are dwindling, but if they it's probably related to the SA. Either people want a DayZ mod detox before playing the SA or new players are holding off on buy Arma because the standalone is (hopefully) right around the corner.

The more I play DayZ the more engrossing it is. A buddy of mine has declared the he doesn't even really think about it as fun anymore, just a part of his daily routine.

Look at the top ten best sellers on Steam. ArmA 2 is outselling triple A titles, and it's not because people want to play ArmA 2 (it is a good game, I'm just making a point don't send hate mail), it's selling because people want to play DayZ. In fact, I can't remember a time recently that ArmA 2 wasn't in the top 10. And with the DayZ mod on Steam the popularity of the game is about to go off like a atomic bomb!

Every new server takes people away from existing ones..... Some people even lock threads of other server recruiting efforts to protect there own servers....

Plus, i know alot of people that enjoyed the game but are just WAITING for the StandAlone......

Its all good... I still enjoy meeting new people while playing a game I enjoy
