Wll the standalone be hard to run?

Recommended Posts

I can run the mod right now at about 15-20 fps, which is bearable for me, but I'm kind of worried that when the standalone is released it will be harder to run. I can't find any information on it, so does anyone know if it will be harder to run? If not, anyone have ideas or suspicions. I'm hoping it will be smoother because the files are all in one place and the whole game was created for the purpose of being dayz, not arma, rather than having to use files from three or four different file locations. Is this right, or am I just making things up?

it is said that it is more easier to run, because for example the z's right now have "bones" in their fingers etc, and that puts more stress on the CPU, so getting rid of things they dont need is going to increase performance CPU wise. so it will be easier to run.

The Standalone will be a lot more optimized, but with the addition of more zombies and the graphical updates, the game has been said to run about the same as DayZ, according to Rocket.

My guess, is that it should be about the same, if not better.

Pros:

Better Optimization of whole game

Zeds being less CPU heavy

Cons for lower end PC's:

Improved graphics ( volumetric clouds)

All Zeds spawn at once, opposed to when people are near.

Hope this helped, if your PC can handle now, it should be fine for stand alone :)

will it be as harsh on the cpu as it currently is on the dayz mod?

I don't know. All I've seen Rocket say is that "it will run about the same as the DayZ mod."

It will be about the same but fps will be more stable as Rocket said. I hate having 80 - 100 fps outside of cities and inside 50 - 60 (40 if rains).

My heart bleeds for you...

I get like 30 fps at the best of times, so imagine when im in a city while it rains with lots of players/zeds
