Yes and no. Dayz as it is now is a CPU hog more than a GPU hog. However with the item changes the SA will probably tap into the GPU side a little more and the CPU less. Your GPU is plenty powerful as is but I would take a look at your CPU and see if you need an upgrade to push the FPS even higher.

look on google for .cfg optimization tweaks. i play on a laptop that is no where near close being a laptop for gaming, but after editing my .cfg files a bit, using launch parameters, and just playing around with the visual settings and finding what works; i gave me pc a nice little boost on my framerate, went from having about 10 fps in cities to about 20-25. about 35-45 in wooded areas. doesnt seem like much, but it works for me

Hello there

Hold your horses there partner! We don't have any "real world" facts yet. from the info received the game should run more smoothly overall, whether you'll see a major improvement in FPS is debatable.

Arma tries to optimizing your game by changing what's done on the CPU or the GPU depending on your settings. If you have a lot of stuff on low, then the game will really push your CPU. But if you have a lot of stuff on normal or high, then it pushes your GPU more. You have to find a good balance.

Also, try this tweak:

Go into C:\Users\Yourname\Documents\ArmA 2

Open Arma2.cfg and arma2oa.cfg with notepad.

Find Gpumaxframesahead and Gpudetectedframesahead.

Change the number after those to 1. Do this in both files.

Start Arma 2: OA. Turn of post processing. Then go into controls and turn smoothing all the way down.

Every fps improvment will be used for better graphics in the stand alone.

So you will not have the same graphc with better fps.

You will have the same fps with better graphic.
