Electronic Components

Recommended Posts

A new set of lootable items: electronic equipment like resistors, speakers, transistors, LED’s and stuff like that. (don’t give us the ohm count for the resistors, but make the normal color system we normally have)

The player could use those to create all kinds of thing like a recharge station for accumulators, or a security system for a base.

This would fit with the whole “if you are good at it in real life you should be good at it in DayZ”-thing.

In fact this would be the first thing in this game where it would be like that, because no matter how good you are at running around in reality, you still won’t get better at it in the game.

Also programmable computers would be nice so one could be able to create some code secured door type deal for a base.

i dont think they have the resources to devote that much time into making a electric lego simulation. Cool idea, but thats a whole game by itself.

what is more likely is that there will be a crafting system with an end product decided by the dev team..

For example, if you want to make a Loud speaker to talk through for your camp, you need to get a broken telephone, some wire, an amplifier, a battery, and a speaker. You combine the parts in a pre-determined recipe book. You suddenly create that loud speaker setup.

This sounds like a really good idea. This could add a lot of complexity to the game.

Unfortunately, this is a good idea that will never make it into Day Z.

I'm all for the "making it just like real life" approach, but we can't afford to do it with everything. You just can't make one game into a massive flight sim, a massive sniping sim, a massive car repair sim, a massive medicine sim, a massive electrical engineering sim, a massive farming sim, a massive hunting sim, a massive fishing sim...etc.

Just gotta put it out there.

Maybe in another decade or so.

EDIT:

One more thing:

WTF is with the stuffed animals tag?

Hello UmBe, do you have any idea about this type of game? What is involved in it? Like mentioned in the above example, it requires many parts to make one working equipment.

pcb assembly service
