Add back some of the banned weapons from 1.7.5?

Recommended Posts

I dont know why they got banned( they are : L115a3 , MakarovSD etc... basicly the custom weapons on privatehives.)

So yeah just as the title said please add them back? dont need to be in the regular dayz , would be nice ofcourse but atleast let private hives have the option to use them or not.

There's a reason they were banned. Surely common sense would dictate that asking for them back is useless.

Either they were overpowered in some aspect or they were constantly buggy with no way to make them work the way they were intended to.

Originally when I saw this I thought the OP would be begging for the AS50 TWS to be put back in the game.

nah not the AS50 tws.. also the guns that I mentioned are not even better lol. L115a3 is a bolt action sniper , MakarovSD is just a makarov with an silencer, and yeah I know it MIGHT be useless to ask to bring them back but I am just trying.

As for why they aren't in DayZ, I don't think that the silenced Mak or L115 are overpowered, but adding them in means adding new ammo spawns as well and that kind of complicates things for survivors when you already have a silenced 9mm and two .50 caliber rifles. New ammo spawns reduce the chance of ammo for those weapons spawning; the more different ammo types, the less likely you'll find ammo for your gun. Another little thing is that the British rifles have screwy mil-dots, which has not been corrected by Bohemia and could be a serious disadvantage on the many servers without scroll wheel ranging, but then again, the AS50 has that problem as well.

I have no idea why they were put on the list of "banned" weapons though. A hacker scripting in an L115 isn't going to do any more damage than one scripting in an AS50.

MakarovSD would be a tad bit OP, you ever had one? If you did manage to get one you basically have unlimited ammo because you can use normal markarov mags with it.

How is it op though? The makSD is just a makarov, the silencer doesn't make it OP. Not like you will win gunfights with it

Being able to headshot any Zombie you come across without being heard by others is a bit on the OP side. With the M9SD it's not so much of an issue, as ammo is rare enough that you still have to pick your targets. With the Makarov, that's not the case.

It's probably too quiet aswell.

It'd save a lot of hassle if, to portray supressed weapons properly, instead of being silent to zeds they were just slightly quieter than non-supressed ones.

well yeah the makarovSD might be a bit "OP"(lmao) because its too quiet.

Too quiet ? You haven't heard a De Lisle carbine then!

"official firing tests recorded the De Lisle produced 85.5 dB of noise when fired. As a comparison, modern testing on a range of handguns has shown they produce 156 to 168 dB when firing without a suppressor, and 117 to 140 dB when firing with one fitted."

Edit: Sorry mucked up the colors a bit XD
