Picture In Picture for vehicles (aka rearview mirrors)

Recommended Posts

Since it's already implemented in ToH's engine branch DayZ SA will use, please use it as soon as possible ! :)

I understand the PiP uses lots of ressources (because the gpu is rendering the scene from another angle for each mirror),

but in first person the lack of rearview mirrors can be quite annoying when parking a car or being chased by a wild SUV gang...

Also, immersion ++ !

I guess like you say it's probably a system resources thing - I guess the SA will be far better optimised, so something like this wouldn't be quite so crippling as I'd expect it to be on something like the Alpha, which has its moments even on my i7 GTX 670. :P

Like anyone cares about mirrors since obviously 99.9% off all players use 3P anyway...

If this were implemented, and the FOV of first person was increased, I'd tell 3P to fuck off.

How does a mirror increase your fov??? :huh:

It's the lack of "side view" why the people are whining...

Hello there

But would the cpu/gpu "hit" be worth the effect?.

I'd rather have a higher framerate/viewdistance than "pretty" if functional mirrors.

If we could use/manipulate mirrors to look round corners etc, then *that* would be worth the hit.

Read my post again, you fupping dingleberry.

I said if this mirror idea were implemented, and they made your players FOV wider, then they should remove third person.

Wider FOV = "side view"
