What kinds of things would you like to see on a private server?

Recommended Posts

We're starting one up and we're discussing how we should roll out the map.

Any input is much appreciated

Less is better i think, but i suppose it depends on what sort of players you want to attract to your server.

Well, the best thing to do is to spawn everyone with Mountain Dew, cooked meat, an AS50, an M9SD, and a coyote backpack. Don't forget the NVG's and rangefinder. You gotta be sure to make it 24/7 daylight, and to have at least 400 vehicles and 50 heli's. Oh, and every airfield and town must have at least 2 barracks and a fire station.

I just like to see a few extra vehicles not 5 billion all fully repaired and fueled but just enough not to consider finding one a miracle.

Also night please keep night in

I would love to get back to pure vanilla, the game as it was meant to be. One helicopter like every 13 days or w/e it used to be, no SUV, regular day/night cycles.

That would be amazing.

Also remove the M107 and AS50, neither have any place in this game whatsoever as common sense would dictate.

Whitelist, vanilla, perhaps increased zombie damage and a modded crafting system... there is a million-plus-one servers with "increased weapons, increased vehicles, increased easymode jada-jada-jada" and they all seem very empty. Put up a server that offers a challenge in both survival and pvp, and you are set to find your players easily as there is very little competition for that kind of servers.

1. Make sure the Bi-plane spawns in. Its a cool change from the helicopters and fits in the setting.

2. Take some of the mid-tier loot away from the coast and move it to inland locations, so that players have a greater incentive to explore.

3. If you have a large enough number of players, take some of the high end military loot out of the NWA and put it at a few other locations. This will give late-game players a greater variety or places to loot and PvP at.

4. Try to organize some admin ran events from time to time. For example, get five or six players together, spawn in three Urals, and announce that a convoy carrying weapons and supplies has been spotted and then give regular updates on the convey's route and location, and then let players fight over the convoy.

5. From time to time, create massive zombie hordes and encourage the players to team up to face them. For example, every once in a while you could spawn in a C130 full of nice loot and a few empty UAZs parked near it at the NWA. Then spawn in an extra 200 zombies surrounding it all. Then make the situation known on sidechat and let the carnage begin as the players fight the zombies and each other to transfer gear from the C130 to a UAZ and then driving it out of there.
