samzerks88 31 Posted February 13, 2013 So i was running from a line of zombies when i decided to try out the combat tolr (sprint + v) to jump a fence. It doesn't jump a fence. So technically it's just an aesthetic appearance thing? No purpose or use whatsoever?
BSB Jimmy 360 Posted February 13, 2013 it does work and you misspelled roll... twice.
moriak 35 Posted February 13, 2013 sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn'tprobably depends on the fence height (i.e. how much is the fence stuck in the ground)
attorney1977 311 Posted February 13, 2013 (edited) Press the button approx 2 metres (a players height) before you reach the fence. Edited February 13, 2013 by Horde
Milans 25 Posted February 13, 2013 Be in a sprint and you can jump 2 wire fence width ... helps when your runnin from Zeds instead of stoping to hop over a fence or make it harder for a sniper to shoot you
Acix 132 Posted February 13, 2013 works well to get over barbed wire
Shakis 33 Posted February 14, 2013 Yeah, I couldn't get it to work at first either, but you need to start the jump quite far from the fence... like the guy said above 2m away, maybe more lol... but it has some rang one it man!
herrjon 478 Posted February 14, 2013 It has a lot of use once you know how to use it, can really lose the zeds if you can find some fences, also do some silly parkor stuff, but w/e
petermann2 19 Posted February 14, 2013 works well to get over barbed wireCan anyone confirm this? Don't wanna break my legs while trying this... :-P
Lordsarito 42 Posted February 14, 2013 (edited) It seemed to only work for me if you have a two-handed weapon. Also, all you need is to press is v. Edited February 14, 2013 by Lordsarito

victusmortuus 1074 Posted February 15, 2013 It's a joke really, dunno why it's still in the game.
Pyramind 0 Posted February 15, 2013 I struggled with this last week! Tried it a few times to get the hang of it but as everyone else said, it's almost 2 metres away from the fence to make it.
sobieski12 835 Posted February 15, 2013 It's a joke really, dunno why it's still in the game.Going to roll to the enemy, they stand no chance versus my double barrel.
joanjett (DayZ) 31 Posted February 16, 2013 I love the roll. Seems to me like the chara slows down to wander over the fence, with the roll, if you time it right, you jump over the fence, pop up and keep on runnin. What DOESNT make sense are zombies going through everything like ghosts. joinnkakashi@gmail.com 31 Posted February 21, 2013 I really only use it when I am getting shot at it makes hitting me as I go into cover harder
Zypha 7 Posted February 23, 2013 I use the combat roll to play leap frog with crouched players.
Hockeyguy 107 Posted February 25, 2013 You can do some cool things with the combat roll, you just have to try some things with it and it can look cool. I dont know how much it will be used for combat but if someone does manage to dodge something like an RPG with a combat roll they will get all my beans.
