DayZ Scenario: Would You Kill or Help

Recommended Posts

If I was a fresh spawn sure I'd help him. It'd be a fun situation with nothing to lose. If I was geared and came across him, I'd be more apt to leave him in the alley.

The number of times I've been shot at by people I'm trying to help is beyond counting by this point.

I've gotten real good at getting out of the way.

General rule of thumb: If you're giving a stranger blood and morphine do the blood first then move out of sight and drop the morphine on the floor.

Took a LOOOOOOOOOONG time to learn this.

Everyone is friendly as long as they're at your mercy.

This exact scenario actually happened to me a fair while ago.

I had been sniped and had broken my leg near the Cherno main square, when a new spawn stumbled across me. He actually risked himself (and was shot at plenty of times) before returning with some morphine.

I then shot him.

You bastard!

Now that think about it, I encountered a slightly similar situation once in my early DayZ.

I arrive in Cherno with a M1911 and a few rounds, gunshots everywhere. I go straight to the Firehouse, nothing to loose.

I found an AK and a mag, the moment I decide to get out, another survivor moves in with a revolver (they were really deadly back then) I fire few shots from my cover, near the staircase.

I hear the distinctive noise of his leg's bone projected on the wall behind him, he dropped and yell "friendly... friendly... ! Gonna drop my gun !! You can get it"

Kinda shocked and amazed by his natural will to survive, I move out and bandage him, he then insist that I take his gun (to instore trust I believe) I only take a clip, and let him have it back.

For the little story I actually went to loot the hospital to give him morphine and a bloodbag, we then headed north to Novy like best buddies.

Twas the first time I was in a hold up situation of some sort, I had a glimpse at the mods potential, and damn it was thrilling.

Voilà ! Hope it'll entertain you a bit at work while I selfishly practice my written english on this forum ^^

Joking too!

Calling a forum team member a bastard in literal terms would surely get me a warning point :o

Enemy of my enemy is my friend. Basically my priority #1 would be to take out or distract the higher ground, the semi auto long range fucker and since he offered his higher tear rifle, two guns can do more than one.

In fact, anyone actually killing that guy would be probably nothing less than stupid shit. Obviously, if we did get that dmr, I would very closely watch him or be gone right afterwards.

Maybe if he had a vehicle ''next'' to him. That would get me thinking

Ha Ha! No i didn't shoot him. I gave the guy my gun and i went back to my hatchet.

My humour doesn't translate well into writing sometimes so i made the edit after being called a bastard twice. :)

Quite rightly as well i might add!

Yeah, I'd risk it. I don't have much to lose. Even if I were fully geared, I'd have him drop his gun and set some morphine down for him. But as hetstaine said, it'd be a good idea to get his story first.

Since I just spawned and have crap for loot I might help, nothing lost really. If I was totally equipped I wouldnt be near the city anyway so wouldn't have to worry about it. :)

You are missing out on all the fun if you are just a country boy.

Come on down to the city, it's where the action is.

semi retraction of bastid, i will need to speak to my lawyer in Berezino first.

I'm not denying i am one.

The irony of this is nearly everyone on this topic says that they would help them out, (I would too :P) but where is this reaction in the actual game? I rarely encounter people who don't shoot at a moving person, let alone a down and weak one. Just thinking out loud here...

I agree. Sitting outside the game i think most people believe they would help. In game though i am sure a few people would just shoot first. Whether by design or just because of the in game tension.

I would help if I could. But in the back of my mind I would be thinking "Ive seen this before, The guy on the ground is calling out for another victim for the sniper and hes actually OK" or "Im going to help this guy and hes just going to shoot me in the face"
